Amex Platinum Concierge | How it Works & Is it Worth It?

I used to work at the amex concierge before the move it to the Philippines 🙄, we were trained to use certain words to sound smart and sound knowledgeable even though we did not have a clue of what out members were talking about. For restaurants most of the time we use open table if the restaurant is not partnered with us, if the restaurant is partnered with us we use our own booking system and a lot of times they do perks to cardmembers like free champagne or free appetizer or dessert and you don't have to pay for the meal because everything is automatically charged to your card. Let me know if any of you guys have questions about the concierge.

I use the concierge service for a restaurant on Valentine's Day because a lot of restaurants are booked up and my representative was able to get me a table at a restaurant and when I called they said they were booked. I love amex for that

I was able to book the Bally’s Sterling Brunch in Las Vegas with the Platinum Concierge. AMEX was able to get us a table that weekend despite it being sold out for months.

I like the service offered but I do wish they would simply skip the automated voice system and operate like chase does with having someone answer your call right when you call the number on the back of the card.

For flights, Amex charges a fee for booking over the phone, so its better to book online I think

Just a heads up, just got back from my four free nights in Atlantis. They DO enforce the 4 hours of required casino play. What I did was just play on a penny slot an hour each day and I only lost like $20 over the four hours I played. Cheapest way to get around the requirement.

@Chris M you get a players card when you check in that tracks your playing. they look to see at the end of that if you have hit the four hour mark. did not realize this was a thing until I approached the casino desk the night before I departed asking if there was anything else I need to do to check out with them since they had comped my room

I called to ask for a set of Football tickets at Giants stadium vs the Eagles. They found me tickets at the 50 yard line within a few hours. Totally, worth the price of admission for the Platinum card. They also were able to reserve me a table at a well known steakhouse on Valentines Day.Membership does have its privileges.

Much different in Germany... We do have a dedicated Platinum Service (no longer called Lifestyle- or Concierge Service). You need to type your complete card no. in the phone and chose to which team you want to speak to. But think the services provided are similar.

Amex Platinum Concierges don't do anything, they just get the clients request and forward the email to a five stars hotel's concierge, who end doing all the hard work. Later the concierges will email back all the client's request. And the Amex Platinum Concierge just copy and paste somebody else work. The reason why I know is because I used to work there. It's pure BS , they don't do anything. They are lazy !!! The credit should go to hotel's concierge who are the one doing all the hard work and used their connections to make something happen.

Gary Nelson As a client you will get the job done. However the credit of their work goes to all the concierges in luxury hotels who do all the hard work for them. Amex concierge only Copy and Paste someone else hard work.

You got it. Easy way to put it is, first year your going to be getting value on 99% of the cards out there but the real question is value after that initial year. Some cards will make sense to downgrade but others I end up keeping if it had no annual fee or free anniversary nights. You can’t go wrong with a specific combo. It only depends on what your travel habits are and how you value those points👌

No, Facebook is a bad idea. I tried linking with Amex, following their directions and started getting spammed. This was a messenger thing. I let Amex know and discontinued the link. I thought it was a bad idea and Facebook proved it, lol. Yes, show us what concierge can do!

@@XWDude People don't realize the infinite concierge is actually the same as the signature concierge. They're the exact same team. They're also TERRIBLE - they made incorrect reservations at the most popular restaurant in Turks & Caicos with a party of 8, no remorse. Amex concierge is 100 times better.

@@XWDude It's not -- there is absolutely no difference. Their email correspondence even comes through as Visa Sig. Couldn't be a worse service -- use google and you're better off. Amex has relationships with quite a few restaurants in major cities, which is what I primarily use it for. I've used CSR Infinite concierge before and would never use them again.
