i was raised to not celebrate my birthday, because there was no need. there was pressure to spend money and for others to spend money. there was no point. but upon starting primary school in year 3 and seeing how pampered a person would be on their birthday, i started to think maybe my parents were wrong. in retrospect, they were right to discourage me from doing so. nowadays, when i receive a gift on my birthday, i'm similar. i don't know how they want me to react, knowing full well i'm expected to jump with joy and give them a hug, even when i don't want to - and i don't like disappointing people. so... yeah. a much-needed truth, i guess, and a pleasant break from the cooking videos.

honestly, for me its the pressure to have a ‘special’ day: to have my friends around me, get presents, dress up nice, whatever, etc. in reality, my friends barely remember my birthday, generally my day goes the same way, and i end up feeling like i’ve wasted/failed the day. it always comes down to pressure/expectations to be a certain way.

this made me think deep. Like u actually have a point, why should we dedicate one day to celebrate our lives when we should be doing that anyways. And when I get excited for my birthday I don’t think of it celebrating my life I js think of money, getting gifts, having sleepovers and parties with friends. I’ve never changed my perspective of birthdays and I should start celebrating my life not js parties and gifts. But also it’s not only the parties and gifts, it’s the happy atmosphere and everyone is happy and celebrating me, but at the same time I’m not entitled and I don’t want the attention to be on me all of the time. I guess I should be grateful that I get to spend time with family and get gifts on my birthday because not everyone can. I’m actually js waffling atp but yk. Yeah we should appreciate everyday but we don’t because we forget about it. Our minds/lives are occupied by whatever else is happening to or distracting us. A birthday at least offers a reminder for us to take it slow and reflect on life and what we’ve done thus far-for some at least.

The window providing sunlight would enhance your appearance when looking into your reflection, i hope this makes sense😭 colour palette 🎨 • grey, yellow, white, black & pops of green here and there. You're a plant dad🪴- showcase your kids 🤣 table • hmm honestly i would place it against the window 🌌 - hear me ouut you'd have a view while you're working - this could channel your creativity plus its better than a boring plain white wall. (if your worried about the wires, plugs etc. then use an extension cord) the bed - place it where the big table is currently sitting. The headboard should be facing the window, the lamp stays put keep that space open. The rug goes to the side of the bed either in-front of lamp or by the entrance. Also ensure the bed is not pushed to a corner. Lastly get rid of that abstract looking circle. The Algerian wall tile has a much better touch 🙌🏽 (we need more). hope this helps :)

real. i've never felt "negative" about my birthdays, but i treat them as if they were nothing. my mom grew up not celebrating hers, so some may say i'm just taking it from her, but i honestly don't understand what's so important yk? as you stated, why do I need to be the MOST thankful that one day, yk? EVERYDAY, i'm thankful for myself; a day won't change that? when people ask "what are you doing for your birthday?" blah blah, i usually say nothing. they are baffled. It's not that i dislike it, but it's simply another day. in my head i can say maybe i appreciate my birthday a bit more than i do in rl.. and that’s okay to me. i just like the date if anything 🤷‍♀️ but this year I'll give it a shot and actually do something for my birthday; if I feel fulfilled, I'll join the tradition; if not , I'll just go back to my old ways. treat it as a regular degular day.

it was just my birthday 25th of September, and I literally feel the same way. birthdays have always felt kinda pointless, at least my own bc it's just the same date you were born some years ago and I honestly don't understand who came up with the idea of birthday celebrations. but at the same time it also feels like you're supposed to be doing something nice and that it's supposed to be a really happy day, and I always end up not really doing anything and then I feel bad and cry about everything.
