As an AMG fan since a kid in the 80’s to now an AMG owner, I was impressed by this non conventional presentation. It had all the tricks to keep short attention span types in check, while delivering an accurate timeline. Well done guys 👍 it’s also nice to see people in the comment section who have learned something about AMG, even if as simple as what the letters “AMG” stand for.

I love the AMG Smart. The sad thing about AMGs is that they are so much on the edge, you basically have to change motor oil (and filters the whole shit) every 6 months, and all the other oils like differential oil and gear oil need to get changed more often than regular cars, too. They need way more extra love and maintenance than regular cars. A bit like a race car. Forgetting an oil change can end an AMG motor. People who buy these used AMG sleepers, treat them like a normal stationwagon destroying the car in under a year of time...

When I was about 14 or 15 my dad and I went to a local dealership to look at a car. It was something he had been wanting for a while. I knew a decent bit about cars at this point, but nothing about AMG. The car my dad went to look at was a 2003 CLK55 AMG Coupe. To me it just looked like a regular Mercedes with nicer wheels and such. He started it up, and it came to life with a howl which slightly startled me. He and I then went for a test drive on an old country road and there was a straightaway. My dad floored it at about 45 mph and I was slammed into the seat and held with incredible force as the car lurched forward with ferocity. That was my first experience in a fast car, and I loved it. After that I became a huge fan of AMG, although to this day I haven't owned one. Perhaps in the future, but I have at least had the privilege of owning 2 Corvettes and a Charger. If I could pick any AMG though, it would be an SL65 AMG Black Series.

one of my favourite experiences in my life was going to the Mercedes Benz factory in Stuttgart. My godparents parents had worked there a long time ago, and used that to get us on a 'special' tour. The whole area is spectacular, and watching the cars get made was amazing. The place is so big that they have their own hospital and fire department

Nice side story about 300 SEL 6.8 Red Pig, after the race they sold the car to French aerospace company (I think it was Matra) where they used it as test carriage for aircraft landing gear, they hacked the back session and trashed the car. As you guess it the car was scrapped and presumably lost forever. AMG did eventually make a replica of it few years back.

Fun fact:mercedes once made an diesel amg called the c30 cdi in the w203 c class it was made from 1999 to 2004 only sold in europe they used an 5 cylinder 2.7cdi and tuned it to be an 3.0cdi making 231 hp it was hand built. Only diesel amg ever made they are very rare.
