Amherst Train Show 2024 Day 1 - Manufactures & Vendors

Today at the show, I just concentrated on manufacturers and vendors. There are so many I couldn’t cover them all. On Day 2 I’ll cover Layouts and Displays.

Thank you! It wasn’t easy trying to take video on Saturday. I just watched a video from the Amherst organizers and they said the attendance was over 17,000 on Saturday!! 😮

Every time I would pass by the Mini Prints both, you had a crowd around you!😃 Amherst is nothing like I’ve experienced . Hopefully we can chat in May on train??

Three days would be nice! It wasn’t hard to get “lost” here. After about 2pm the crowd thinned out and it was much easier to get around.

Probably one of the largest shows in the country in 4 buildings, and yes it is a lot of walking

At 17:37 on the time bar, those Atlas Nippon Sharyo Type 6000 Bi-Level Commuter Coaches - Ready to Run - Metra #6052 are gorgeous. But what a shame they're in HO. That's way too small for me. If they were in G scale, I'd go nuts !! In your video, they look huge. Hard to imagine they were just small HO. You must have held your camera just inches away from them. What a bummer......... At 9:46 on the time bar, it's interesting to see those Amtrak Avelia Liberty train set models. The real ones are just in testing now. None have actually entered revenue service yet. I've seen video of them being tested at a whopping 165 mph !! The night time video in rainy, foggy weather showed some spectacular fireworks of arcing from the pantographs on that 11,000 volt catenary. What a sight. There wasn't much in the way of trolley, traction or subway models at the Amherst Train Show 2024. It seemed to be mostly all diesel with a little bit of steam. And it was mostly freight, with very little passenger. There wasn't an RDC to be seen and few electric locomotives, except for a GG1 here and there.

I really want to get one of those Bachmann Acelas! I bet there was Trolley stuff there. I know there was tons of stuff I didn’t put on video or missed. In one of my other videos of the show, there is I believe a small O scale Trolley layout.

@@MyLifesTracks At 3:48 in the Marklin booth, what was the story with that trolley on the top shelf on the right? What scale was that? It almost looked like Philly, but could have been Chicago. By the way, in other videos of the Amherst Show, I spotted quite a bit of trolley stuff, models and actual hardware. One item that caught by eye was a gorgeous trolley headlight on the table of a trolley museum from Connecticut. Whether for sale or display I don't know. I take back that there wasn't an RDC to be seen. I saw them in other videos. Besides ones for sale, one layout had a two-car train of them running around. Another layout had a single RDC running around. Everybody's videos of the show had different booths. It seems that everybody shot video at random.

The trolley at 3:48 is G scale. This show is so big, I don’t believe one channel can cover it all in two days. It was very difficult to move around on Saturday with over 17,000 people attending. If I go again, I don’t think I’ll take as much video and just enjoy it more. I missed so much stuff that vendors were selling and didn’t even cover the tourist lines and museums. It would be nice if this show was a Friday to Sunday, but that’s asking a lot from all who are involved.

When I win the lottery and don't have pets I will go there. In the meantime I will stick to Batavia, Hemlock, and RIT. KZbin is back to not loading your videos properly. Idk why they seem to only do it to your channel. I think the first Scaletrains 4 axles were the GP30s which included the CSX Road Slugs the first manufacturer produced slugs.

This show is like RIT x 10! There is so much to see it makes you dizzy!😄 It took forever to upload this video using the motel wifi. Yep, Scaletrains released the GP30 first. I remembered that after I started uploading the video. Funny thing is, I just bought their GP30 last week!
