@AMHoops Hey, I have a random idea for a video. It's regarding the new mid season tourney and new expansion teams. Hitting 32 teams is easy and splits neatly into 4x 4 team brackets for each conference. Does that mean the NBA caps out at 32 teams though? After 32 they'd have to add 4 teams at once for even brackets since 36 splits evenly but 34 wouldn't (but a 4 team expansion draft would be way too much at once imo). I haven't seen any speculation regarding this from any other youtubers or mainstream media.

This is laughably stupid (These trades are terrible as always) and historical revisionism. Were the Raptors supposed to trade Kawhi and tear it down after they just won a championship? He was a UFA so the chances of a sign and trade would have been extraordinarily slim and the best they could have gotten would be, what, Zubac? Gasol and Ibaka were aging free agents, what were they supposed to get for a sign and trade assuming they'd be able to negotiate that? The only sign and trade they were able to pull off for a vet was Kyle Lowry and that was because *the Heat didn't have the cap space to sign him outright like the Clippers did with Kawhi, the Lakers with Gasol, the Bucks with Ibaka, and the Rockets with VanVleet.* This video is predicated on ignoring why sign and trades happen and how little value teams typically get back for even the best free agents. Toronto's made some bad decisions of late but the decline from 2019 wasn't the result of them failing to deal out a series of aging players. They might want to trade Siakam but not for a crap return like basically every one of these suggested trades.

Best course for us is to refuse to make any offer at all. He isnt going to play anywhere else and we can wait. Eventually he will force a buyout of his contract and we can then sign him for the vet min. That way we keep our assets AND his contract wont even count against our cap. We hold all of the cards.

Dude! this is such a lazy take. First of all, I don't think this is about Raps panicking. It's aboutguaging the Pascal's trade value now so they can compare it later in the season uptill the trade-deadline. Of course, if someone offers a ridiculous deal like ATL gave up for Murray or MIN for Gorbert, it would be stupid not to take it. But it's not likely to happen with Siakam clearly not interested in longterm with any other team. Any deal would be a 1-yr rental. News just came out that IND is not even going to include Andrew in any of the deals. Plus, no one is giving up more than one unprotected pick without reassurances. This is not like KD/Kyrie situation that the team has to trade cause the player has checked out. Pascal wants to stay. He's frustrated by the raps wanting to check the temperature as to how hot his trade value is. This could be used in negotiations later. It is business at the end of the day. As far as Fred is concerned, no one confirmed a significant 1st rd. pick for him at the deadline. The best deals out there included Allen or Kennard plus a couple of second rounders. Raps got that with the Dennis and Jalen anyway, even of they were not at the same level. Retaining players is not always the best option, especially in the case of Green, Ibaka and Gasol. They did not do much after leaving TOR anyway. And Kawhi was a flight rist from the beginning. Nothing Raps could do about that. Believe me, I want what is best for the teams and the players btu we rearely get a win-win deal these days.Right now everyone is on a holding pattern. As soon as the first domino drops, we will see a number of deals back-to-back. Plus the rookies can be traded in a few weeks as well so that's gonna open up a lot of options as well.
