I don't think Dubs can afford to start Paul next to Steph. Most likely starting 5 will have Looney and Dray for size with Wiggs and Klay on the wings and Steph at point. Maybe Paul replaces Wiggs or Klay but I doubt it. CP3 makes much more sense off the bench. This will prolong his season so he can be healthy for the playoffs and/or will serve as a good way of bumpig up his potential trade value by showcasing what he can contribute.

If the Warriors can re-sign Draymond and add any type of backup center, they will be a title contender next year. Their starting 5 was the best in the league last year (by far), and now this will be their bench: CP3, Moody, Divincenzo, Kuminga and (? at Center). Moody and Kuminga playing alongside CP3 (instead of Poole) will help a lot. Having said that... I can also see this as a plan to trade CP3 for a couple quality role players before the deadline. Either way... getting him for Poole was a great deal for the Warriors.

Smart move by the Warriors. They are attempting to replicate their 2022 championship roster with the same starters with a very great 2nd unit. If they can pull off a "D-Lo for Wiggins" trade with CP3, then they should pursue an offensive 6th man replacement for Jordan Poole and effective veterans like Bjelica & Porter who excel on both sides of the court. But still, a 2nd unit with CP3, Donte/GP2, Moody, and Kuminga doesn't sound bad.

I think CP will stay with GSW but be the man to run their second unit. Probably plenty of rest days and no need to come back too quick if he does get injured since GSW has not given a crap about the regular season since they won 73 and blew it. CP's minutes will probably go from 32/game last season to probably about 20-25 this season and if he does happen to get injured you have another coach/player sitting on the bench like Iggy the past couple of seasons. Washington is getting a talented (if a bit flawed) young player so win win trade on paper (if Draymond resigns). It will be a blast watching Paul with Curry, Klay, and Wiggins on the floor.

Poole's attitude did not fit the Warriors overall, probably why he got punched in the first place... Warriors rely on their chemistry, and Poole was fucking that up, so I think it's smart to get rid of Poole and his contract, bring in CP3 for a while and maybe let go of even more to gain a real piece to win and build around. Good move from the Warriors and Wizards. Have a feeling Poole is going to get a bad rep in the league for having too much of a chip on his shoulder. Unless he can win a ring without superstars like Steph and Klay, his attitude is gonna cause disruption on any team he's on. Just my opinion.

While Poole isn't worth that much right now, with so few options remaining on a horrible Wizards team, I could see him averaging over 25 PPG and some team (say the Heat) decides they want to add that big piece and overpay for him. A bunch of nonsense, Steph hasn't played point guard for a second of his life, he's a 1 and a half, meaning, a shooting guard with the size and court vision of a point guard. If he played point guard, actual point guard, he wouldn't get as many touches and would have 50% less shots. The Warriors are the epitome of modern ball, where positions don't matter, most of the time Draymond brings the ball up the court. Evidently, Paul will play point guard, Steph will play 2, and they might alternate as the game develops. Klay is a liability, never recovered from his injuries and lost his first step, as soon as puts the ball on the floor he's thinking about injuries, not the actual play itself, full blown ptsd case due to the horrific injuries he sustained - he should be coming off the bench, not the 38 year old, which says a lot. At this point, I don't even know if Paul will stay with the team, but if he does, playing him off the bench and using him mostly with a second unit is cutting this team's potential to half.

I think the organization realizes the core itself is not getting any younger and curry could be prone to injuries this year or next so cp3 could be the new microwave sixth man. He can start to give Steph some rest and lead the bench. We can play fast and we can play methodical as well. Also, it will free up some money space to acquire a vet big man. If Draymond leaves, that hurts but that can move looney to power forward and that can give us size and height with another price find center. So I'm beginning to see the wisdom of the trade.
@Bella-id3nb Жыл бұрын
Its not unusual for cp3 to come off the bench since he already said in an interview that he's good at any role as long as he plays on a winning team. The Warriors did amazing in this trade. I think Jordan Poole is a quality player who is going to only get better. But we saw his worst last season after he signed the big money deal. All of a sudden he wasn't doing the things the coaching staff were asking of him. He was calling his own number and showed as a primary ball handler, at least in the playoffs, can be a dicey proposition. The Warriors literally got better, as even old man CPIII is better than what Jordan Poole gave the team last season. They also got off that terrible contract and with the cap spikes coming should be able to dodge the 2nd apron in the 2024/25 season. A top 20 protected pick isn't that bad, a 2nd round pick is nothing to worry about and Ryan Rollins is no big deal. It does kind of suck to have to give up Patrick Baldwin Jr. Warriors are NOT going to flip CPIII, this is a totally different situation.

They match up horribly against Denver (assuming the Nuggets put up the same level of defensive intensity they had against the Lakers and Miami). If he wanted, Joker could average 40 @ 60% against that team. They lack the defense to bother Murray, and if the outside shooting is even close to normal, KCP and Porter would be averaging 15-20 a game. It would be an ugly series.

Why would they 'depend' on him. He'll be perfect as a backup or when Steph is resting.

Upping his value and trading him mid season for bench help would be the best move for the Warriors frfr.

Warriors need a big who can space the floor, rebound and provide paint presence/protection. Cp is not the answer. I thought it was a good move if they went for prozingis but celts got him already. So maybe myles turner.

If cp3 comes off the bench I think they will have a chance

As a Warriors fan, the only thing I’m worried about, is that our offense is constantly moving and being fast, the complete opposite of Chris Pauls style of play. I truly wonder how it will work with him on the bench.

Maybe he can finally get that elusive ring But like he’s just going to be a second string point guard off their bench .. I mean just for one season But of course the Draymond green Poole situation still was Rocky

They need to trade for a big that protects the rim then you can have Chris Paul come off the bench but can finish games cp3, curry, klay, dray, and actually center could be deadly

This is just me but I think the Chris Paul trade is gonna go badly. Paul is getting older and there is a chance he gets injured. We have seen what Jordan Poole can do, I think he’s had a bad year due to issues with draymond and the warriors. We have seen how the nets thought they were gonna be stacked when they got Jason Terry, Paul Pierce, and Kevin Garnett. They got old and the team fell apart. I’m not saying that’s gonna happen, but it is possible this trade goes in the wizard’s favor. Not to mention that Chris Paul is hella annoying, he might destroy the team even more because of being pesky.
