For 2 dual 1s, you would do coils in series to make each woofer 2 ohm, then parallel the 2 subs together to make it 1 ohm, wire to strapped pair as described in this video. Each amp sees .5 ohm.

I haven't used one yet, but once I do I will let you know, from the dozens of different brands I have installed in the past and tested, this one seems to be the best for what I need it to do because it has pre amp built into it, 7.5 Vrms output. So no worry of loss of RCA voltage.

When you strap two amps they each share a portion of the final ohm load, so if you are strapped at 2 ohms, each amp sees 1 ohm, half the final ohm load. So in your case you would see 3200 watts strapped since I am guessing they make 1600 at 1 ohm. If strapped at 2 ohm each amp sees half making it 1 ohm and making final power double. So you would see 3200 at 2 ohms strapped.

@TheBassjunkie12 I am not sure without seeing the side of the amp, some amps, like memphis mclass for example, can be strapped with a bridge module which splits the RCA input signal. That is if it isn't clear from seeing the side of the amp anyway.

It depends on your electrical, I ran mine down to .5 ohm strapped, .25 ohm each, if you search my videos, I have one of me testing and clamping the output, 160 db and 11k clamp test. I run mine currently at 1.5 ohm strapped, .75 ohm per amp.

@33mackman Depends on what each amp is stable at, ohm load is added when you strap amps, so if each amp is .5 ohm stable, then strapped it would be 1 ohm. And if each is 1 ohm stable(most mono blocks) then strapped it would be 2 ohm. Hope that helps.

I don't know why I'm so confused over strapping. I understand OHM's law & I read the thread on SMD where you & him were going back & forth in regards to the matter. I get the whole ACV/ACC thing... So just to clarify. If I want to run a pair of Q-3500D's strapped it would be stable to 2 ohms but If the subs I wanted to run were a pair of HDC415's I'd only be able to wire down to either 1 or 4 ohms, being that they only come in dual 1's, so I wouldn't be able to do so...correct?

Dual 2, if you are running just 2 subs, wire in series for the coils for 4 ohm each then parallel the subs for a 2 ohm final load to the strapped pair of 2200s.

Awesome vid one question? I have same amps and want to run two sundown sa10 dual 2ohm would I need to wire each sub to a 4ohm load so the amps would read 2ohms with both subs wired and does each + from amp go to one + terminal on one sub or both + on one sub and same for the - on the slave side

It depends on the electrical, if it is strong enough then yes you can wire lower on these and alot of similar amps even strapped.

For example if i series the amp, 2 ohm, will the amps put out power at 2 ohms. I know with a single amp thats true, but because the amps are strapped would that change what each amp is seeing? I thought i could get 1 ohm off of the amps.

@aleman4392 You wire the subs together to achieve a 2 ohm final load, so it would depend on the voice coil config, but the L7 is a dual voice coil sub so it is either dual 2 or dual 4 ohm.

Do them in pairs. Daisy chain off one set to the next for signal input. I now have 4 of the amps pictured in the video and that is now I have them setup.

That is my 4 15 setup in the video the subs are dual 1s, wired to a 2 ohm final impedance, amps are strapped like the video shows, 2 ohm load final impedance as the video says as well :)

The amp needs to me set with an oscope or dd1 to gain match properly. They are referring to gain matching when they are giving you a target voltage to set to.

It depends on your electrical, but if your electrical can support 1000 amp current draw then you are fine at .5 ohm per amp. Just keep an eye on voltage.

You can do it one of two ways, Series the coils then parallel to the amps, or parallel the coils and run subs in series to the amps. Either way will get you 2 ohms final impedance.

For daily applications, they can be ran down to .66 ohm strapped if you have a VERY strong electrical. But what is the point? To increase the life of the amp try to stay in the stable range which would be 2 ohms strapped.

mexiko24572 Yes it combines the power of both amps, For example, lets say you have Two 2500watt amps, when you strap both of them you will have 5000watts of power total, but keep in mind strapping is only useful with 2 or more powerful subwoofers, you can't be doing this with cheap ass subs like rockford, kicker or boss audio. lol

Then you would need to do all the subs in series to make them each 8 ohms, then parallel all 6 subs into the strapped pair for a final load of 1.33 ohms which with solid electrical to support I am assuming 10k power.

Like in this video you take two amps rated at 1 ohm each at 4300 watts and it makes one large amp rated at 2 ohm at 8600 watts. Meaning less current thru the voice coils and making same power as two amps separately.

How the subs are wired, each amp takes half the ohm load. So each is normally stable at 1 ohm single they would be stable at 2 ohm strapped.

Robert Andres Yes you can still strap them, all the slave switch does is let you control the LPF and gain on one amp, if it doesn't have a slave switch, then you have to adjust the gain and LPF on both amps, they have to be exactly matching, if not you will run into problems.
