NF said that originally Lost was going to be released last year so the end was pointing to that. However, with the pandemic it all got shuffled around and now it'll be a song on Clouds the Mixtape.

This song by and large is NF's response to a review that came out in Rolling Stone magazine last year whenever his album beat out Chance the Rapper for album of the year. The writer gave him a very cruel review.

The specific article he's talking about in the song was published in the magazine The Rolling Stone. The BAND Rolling Stones had a song that was called Pay My Dues. That's where the title of the song comes from. It's a clever little bit of wordplay

The Rolling Stones band have a song titled Pay Your Dues. The Rolling Stones magazine put out a piece attacking NF because the writer of the article was a Chance The Rapper fan and he didn’t like that NF topped Chance in the charts. NF responded with Paid My Dues.

Mixtape comes out march 26th. Two features. One with hopsin and one with tech 9. Lost is his song with hopsin coming. He said no albums until tours pick back up because his albums have always relied on his touring such as his catchy hooks he writes.

Eyo, decided I'd come over to this video also (I broke down the search for y'all earlier) this one has a lot of interesting symbolism, I saw a comment about this already, but may as well say it, he levitates over the couch because as he says in outro he wrote the whole record while levitating. He bench presses the balloons, because they're heavy, his burdens are heavy, not everyone's are, but his are, so he can bench them to become stronger and eventually overcome them. In the video he throws the search album into the toilet, because the critics hated it, and later in the video a hand comes out of the toilet holding the album, kinda saying "nope we ain't done yet". One super interesting thing in this video that's super difficult to catch is in the beginning of the video, you can see NF's timbs (which are a whole part of his image) in a locker, and he isn't wearing them throughout the video, and once that hand comes out of the toilet with the album, you can see really quickly, him wearing the timbs on his feet, which seems to also mean "we ain't done yet", and ofc Lost is announced at the end of the video, which is almost like an Easter egg to the clouds mixtape, paid my dues came out in 2019, and clouds came out in 2021, this is why Nate says in clouds "hanging onto songs this long is daunting" he really has been holding onto Lost for a long time.

See after my sister's death my family treated me wrong but I forget and forgive them all for any hurtful things they said my life was rough but I have my soul mate and a happy life even though it's hard for me to work bc of my back and pain from the past 2 years I have read the bible and took a lot of time in my life reading books and every day that passes I know I can take my time and wright a song with the knowledge that jesus wants me to share with everyone bc this day forward is a time of change and actually accepting everything and everyone no matter what or how they live life and or what thay believe bc I know in my heart jesus christ died for every single soul the lost the ones that are fools even the best of us makes mistakes all we can do is learn and share our experiences so In the end your happy niss is what you make it sorry this is so long but after not saying anything for so long I can't keep letting anyone know that everything is going to be ok I know the world is sometimes messed up so much but don't lose sight of the miracles happening every day
