I borrowed this Amiga game from my old school friend at the elementary school back in the 1990's 😺👍. I loved this game so much, i want to play it again on my Amiga 500 😹👍🕹️. It also gives me the vibes of HYBRIS 😺👍🕹️. And the music tracks & sound effects 🎵🎶 are retrospectively brilliant 😺👍.

I didn't know this at the time (because I never knew about Hybris), but apparently this is a *sequel* to Hybris

Genesis version is much smoother than the Amiga. I read somewhere the Amiga only updates some objects at half frame rate. Also Genesis version has parallax scrolling. It looks a lot better than the Amiga version

It's running on hardware that was 3 years newer. The genesis itself had only been out for a year when the Amiga version of this game was released.

Oh wow, that camera scrolling is *not* good for a shmup. As for the constant background flashing, uh...on the fence about that too. Undoubtedly a classic for the Amiga, but tbh this game kinda gives me a "Diet Toaplan" vibe which I'm not so sure is engaging enough for me, at least watching gameplay. Maybe my opinion will change should I play it myself someday.

Crazy that this was made by two teenagers in their spare time. That's how weak the Western games industry was in those years... The whole lot could be shown up by two kids. Of course it also shows the incredible talent that these two kids had, which was wasted too early because they were ripped off by the industry sharks and burned out from it.

The story's a little weak ("Earth's been battling these aliens for centuries, rescue the two who wiped an entire planet by themselves (and destroy the entire rest of race in the process)!"), but the gameplay carries it. 👍

I took it back and got a refund because of the weak story. It's the most important element in any shooting game

I don't know why but I always played with the Mouse. It was Foster in response. And if you look closely this game had 60fps. Amiga 500 was the shit. You should play Bloodmoon. The first soulslike game. Hard as fuck AF but brutal and gore'y.
