So they are pretty much the same but the OSSC has deeper colours which is especially visible in the blacks. The OSSC costs 150 GBP while the Amiga RGB to HDMI PiZero Adapter 86 GBP for the complete kit. It is nice to have options :-)

Exactly right there. If you’re prepared to invest in an OSSC I think it’s a better option as one device can run many Amigas plus anything else that’s compatible. It’s a great if you just have a 500 and want to get the best display possible

@@Retro32 You need to check the original project out. The original device is external, and can handle so many more platforms. Like CGA and EGA signals. You can use it on C128's and Tandy machines as well. Same quality as this, just more systems supported. I guess that, the OSSC, the Retrotink and a framemeister is a perfect mix for hooking up all systems imagineable.

Are you running the RGBtoHDMI in 60hz? I get perfect smooth scrolling on my two adaptors in two different Amiga500's. One is rev 6a OCS and the other is in a Rev 8a.1 ECS Amiga.

I’ll have to check that. Tbh I didn’t change any of the settings

Looks like the RGB to HDMI has the gama set a touch too high. Would likely be much closer to the ossc if it was reduced some.

This was the capture of of the box with the RGB to HDMI adapter using the same capture profile on the Elgato. It’s good but I agree that it needs some work

Thank you so very much for this. Very helpful. I wonder if the gamma for the RGB to HDMI can be adjusted in the software running on the Pi or if that's hard-coded into it? I might have to look into this for myself.

Hi Troy. I’ll have to have a look in the settings and see if there is an option for it. In reflection it also seems to struggle with the vertical scrolling on PBD. It’s still very early days for the project so I’m sure it’ll be sorted

I think it is mostly a question of monitor settings. I have noted that it is the case between different PC cards. (ISA, VLB, PCI, AGP). And I am just thinking why it would not be the case with Amiga stuff as well.

Was RGBtoHDMI setup for digital or analog RGB? I expect analog rgb into device expecting digital rgb will result in brighter washed out colors (i know mothing about Amigas but have experienced this myself).
@brostenen3 жыл бұрын
It hooks straight into the digital Denise signals, from the source it self. As it is an adaptor that sits between Denise and the socket. A so called sandwich solution.

thanks for the comparison - what settings are you using on the OSSC please? I've played around with mine (Kaico edition) but I get mixed results and I know it should look a lot better
@Retro323 жыл бұрын
I’m using 2x upscaling and that’s pretty much it. Mine gave a beautiful picture out of the box and it’s the Kaico edition just like yours.

Hi, from Sud América. Bro, how the RGBtoHDMI looks better than the OSSC? *Un saludo!*
@Retro323 жыл бұрын
No I don’t think it is better tbh. The gamma is much better but it’s still a great solution

@@Retro32 Hi, good to see you again. Mm, not for me bro. The RGBtoHDMI shows more the detail or a cleanest image.. but it's in my opinion. So, how do you do that?

Unfortunately, the OSSC produces too many artifacts here. OSSC is a good all-rounder, so it can do a lot, but nothing perfect ;)

je prefere l 'ossc plus réaliste et les couleurs sont respecté
