watching the vid, with Richard Joseph happily playing the war, seems sadly strange to me now (he died in 2007). A big loss for the videogames' world, R.I.P. Richard.

This was the original video created for advertisement, apparently they had a £500 budget lol awesome game that i invested so much time, never did beat it but did manage to get Jools to a 4 star general lol you know how many different save game discs I had for this and everyone would corrupt lol this and championship manager were the greatest games for me on the Amiga, along with Sid Miers pirates and Civilisation! Fun times!

to whoiscuriousgeorge - the biggest reason for commodore going bust wasn't the cd3 itself but the amount they had to pay in royalties to cad trak who owned the us rights only to some patent. So the cd32 wasn't allowed to be sold in the us & due to a leagnthy court case, because of the monies owed commodore werent allowed to import any of thier tech or software into the us after said court case

Lol ah give the Snes version a break, it was all I had at one point! No intro, but they did the best they could, least all the levels were in! From memory I think it had a slightly better ending than the Amiga version too -- which just basically plugged Sensible Soccer as your reward, for the 3 years you spent battling through the game (well I did anyway ;-)) The one huge upset was it had no proper save system (which the SNES was able to do) so you lost all your guys ranks. Laziness!

Lol the one good thing about the CD32, sooped up Cannon Fodder YEAH!!! Though the improved Defender of the Crown rocked too - they just released it at the wrong time, no was it gona compete with the Playstation and Saturn. A year earlier it would have cleaned up the release market, and developed enough of a following to survive the console wars.

I don't think it was a matter of having the balls -- It wasn't possible to play any music with words, on the 16 bit consoles -- so 'War has never been so much fun' was definitely out. The pictures on the into of the original (not this CD32) didn't show anything particularly offensive, so I presume they were left out because they couldn't be rendered to a good enough quality on the SNES + Sega

The Amiga CD³² was a console dedicated to shovelware. Most of the games weretitles released for other Amigas with extraneous content shoehorned in, usually one or two game related videos, or FMV as we called it back then. The few games that did take advantage of the CD-ROM drive weren't terribly well executed, like Beneath A Steel Sky where the speech took too long to load and made the music drop in volume. All in all a missed opportunity, and a big part of why Commodore went bankrupt.
