Accordingly to what Jay Miner said in an interview, the 4 channels are not to be meant as 4 voices, due to the fact that they can really reproduce each a complete waveform of PCM 8bit (22khz) sampled audio. At that point, memory would be the major constraint, along with media transfer rates of the time (mostly, floppy based). An astonishing product (for that price) in 1985!

Fake-3d is somewhat of a misnomer in general. It is usually meant to refer to limited degree of axis freedom. This demo features 3d rotation in all axes. Although the texture mapped plane transformations are on Y axis only (to utilize raster based tricks).

Finally this demo is brought up to the surface. One of my favourites demos. Very fast routines and great music! 144 vector bobs in 3d ,morphning included and ofcourse runing in realtime on an amiga 500. I am impressed!.

Indeed. I met one of the coders at Atari-Messe '91, he was porting the starwars and bitbender/rotator scrollers to the ST (it was contained in one of the megademos of the time). What a fine and skilled guy!

I always loved the music and it came into my hands as it was once included with a copy I had of VGA-Copy (which was my favorite diskcopier at the time). I should have known it was tied to a demo originally. Perhaps I'm spoiled by Future Crew's Unreal and 2nd Reality and of course great demos from the AMIGA scene, but this demo disappoints me a little.

Well, not so plain xD Mine has the 256kb expansion in it... I meant no accelerators, nor extra memory beyond 512kb. I don't think it would work with only 256, but who knows xD...

I'm talking about the quality, which is not subjective. By quality I mean the fidelity to the original module file. You can't argue that 240p is closer to the original than 480p. What you're talking about is 240p sounding better, which is SUBJECTIVE. That is a separate issue to the quality of the audio. The claim that you work for a living with music reproduction doesn't mean anything when you are talking about what sounds better.

You do realise 240p is more compressed than say 480p? And better quality usually means audio that has been less compressed? My reference to .mod in the past comment was a guess as to why you would say 240p has better quality. To me, 480p sounds a lot sharper and less compressed than 240p.
