The Amiga world more or less invented the demo scene. Arguably, you can trace a line from the Amiga hacking scene through its demoscene and all the way to the modern Linux community. The Amiga is IMO the most influential computer of the 1980s. It was a multimedia machine before the concept had existed. Had the internet become mainstream in the late 80s, the Amiga would have ruled the world commercially as well as technologically.

The Amiga was a great machine. I got one for Christmas when I was 10. Because they didn’t have much to work with in terms of graphics and special effects, they had to focus on the gameplay, and many times they did a great job, such as Silent service 2, f16 combat pilot, Turricane 2 and, of course, pinball dreams.

It's 2023 and I still play this on original Amiga hardware, -- the A500+ and the A2000. I've played this since it was launched, I played it on 9/11 (no joke) and I'll continue to play it. It's probably the most influential pinball video game/simulator of all time.
@PAULLONDEN2 жыл бұрын
Oh my ....would love so much to have this on the PC. This was work of pure art.
@clivejones5880 Жыл бұрын
It was released for the PC but it's not as good as the Amiga version (nothing is). If you do a web search, you'll find it.

I remember I somehow got the songs to my PC in 1995. And I had Scream Tracker III. I was so happy, the songs I loved in this game I got to see how they were made.. And I finally had all the samples and instruments for my own use! :D Olof Gustafsson was my hero.. still is. Very talented. must google where is he now.

I spent so many hours playing this game back in the early nineties. My high score on Beat Box was just over 2.500.000.000. Pinball Fantasies was also ok, but it was Dreams that really stuck. Those were the days. Now I'm forty and spend my nights (when the mrs and the kids have gone to bed) playing WoT, swearing and cursing at noobs all around Europe. :-D
@p6mkq Жыл бұрын
Then try scoring big at real pinball tables instead of playing WOT.

95% sure its save states. If not, then he would have done alot of tries and post the best ones, but I think its spliced. I mean his aiming isnt that good, often he has a very hard time hitting what he wants. He just stays alive forever and ever. If it were legit he would also have insane luck. This game is quite a portion of luck cause sometimes you cant do anything to stop it from going down on the sides or in the middle. And the ball goes quite often to one of the sides.

It was a strange realization last year that the two games I played most on my PS3 - Pinball Dreams and Battlefield 1943 - were made by the same company twenty years apart.

Watching you play is almost as addictive as playing. I always thought these tables were better than the real thing. At least you don't have to put extra money in for each game. Microsoft should include these in Windows as a demonstration of DirectX and Windows media capability. By the way you squandered the 2nd and 3rd last balls on Ignition.
@andrezesna39204 жыл бұрын
Wow. The flashback when ist heard those sounds
@TwiigssGames4 жыл бұрын
Yep. Actually, we had the MS-DOS version of this game. It was called Pinball 2000, and it only had Rocket (ignition) and Graveyard, which I'm assuming is Nightmare. Didn't have the other two tables. The music was exactly the same, as it is what's known as a mod. Mod's are music files that were made in protracker. I used to play this all the time, but I have it for Dosbox, so I go back to it from time to time. It's better than just watching a video, you can actually play it and enjoy it like you did all those years ago.

90 minutes of awesome classic pinball but especially liked the play on Beat Box - it was never my favourite table but I couldn’t stop laughing at those ridiculous bonuses collected during play and then after the ball was lost. Overall it made my high scores which I thought were good look rubbish in comparison. @TheCommodoreAmiga91 The 10million is won at 1:25.08 and 1:26.00 but no light was lit up to indicate it wass attainable the first time. Don’t ever remember my version doing this...
