Mucha razon sobre ARM ,pero se tiene que mejorar AmigaOS 4.x y MorPhOS por que como sistema operativo workstation desktop profesional BSD / Linux desktop han superado Amiga OS 4.x tiene que trabajar mucho en modernizar Amiga OS 4.x

But OS4 is from Hyperion. And all the PPC code would have to be converted to ARM.

@fondriesete AmigaKit develops their own OS replacement called System 46 based on AROS sources and their own Enhancer components. Also System 54 for PPC, moving away from Hyperion's old components. The move to native ARM has already started when the A600GS was released. The developers used their knowledge from those Pistorm ARM cards for Classic Amiga and have used a couple of years now to learn coding to ARM.

@@HKvalhe Ok, but OS4 PPC (Solie, Friedens and others) continue the development. Cited in Amiwest, now with problems for dual core, SMP. So what is going to happen with this branch? I really think they will finish it one day.

Yes. But you must always compare it with the market situation at that time. There was the Atari ST that was slightly cheaper but by far not as powerful. The C64 was very common. PCs were better typewriters and more expensive. And the Macs who were also much more expensive

Interesante quizas el camino es que una empresa Aeon de Trevor debe comprar todo la empresa dueña Amiga OS 4.1 y potenciarlo para que sea multusuario con funcionalidades modernas,sino se se puede toda la comunidad amiga sean desarrolladores y usuarios,etc deben brindar apoyo AROS(Amiga OS x86-64) con funcionalidades modernas y volver una proyecto open source con licencia GPL de gran evengeradura como Linux o FreeBSD .Creo que se debe mirar al futuro y no vivir solo de lo retro.La comunidad amiga debe vivir ya en el mundo actual ,el mismo linux fue desdeñado y ahora gobierna todo.Quizas AmigaOS y ArOS lo pueden hacer

In my view taking the prices of amiga at that time without looking at the market is not correct. If I remember right there was basically the C64, Amiga 500, Atari ST, Apple and already PCs with MSDOS. In mid 80s there were also other 8bit computers like CPC and Spectrum was popular in Britain but I mainly know central europe. The C64 was not really cheaper either if you added disc drive 1541. Atari ST was slightly cheaper but also hardware inferior, Apple hardware was much more expensive and PCs were better type writers. So you cannot say Amiga 500 was relative expensive. General good computer hardware was more expensive at that time than today.
