18:10 Revo Uninstaller's hunter mode is great for identifying popups (or anything visual at all on screen) and their responsible programs. After enabling hunter mode, you just hover your curser over anything on the screen, and it'll tell you what program is responsible for it and where the files are located. I've helped a friend remove an invasive browser extension this way that he had no idea how to get rid of. Free version is 10/10.

It is. but you shouldn't just blindly delete everything that Revo Uninstaller finds(or any other uninstaller software for that matter). especially when u trace a program's install a lot of background windows stuff end up in the trace log and if you just delete everything every time you trace something, you can easily break your windows with weird unexpected bugs coming up everywhere. speaking from experience here :)

I love OCCT. I recently had stability issues with my system and OCCT helped isolate it to the discrete GPU when I stressed it. From there I was able to isolate it to a bad PCIe extension power cable. Once that was removed, the system is nice and stable now.

At around 17 minutes, when deleting the registry items, if there is ever a red item, deselect and reselect the tree after. Red means that entry is probably shared with another program. In settings you can set the program to AUTO SELECT ALL for faster management but you still should always look for those red entries and leave them just in case they are in fact shared with another program.

The uninstaller I got from your first video about it, was great for me. I had Windows keep telling me that an old printer needed to be updated and so under the "optional Updates" on windows it would always say one files needs updating and no matter if I installed the update which sometimes would say it worked and sometimes it would say it did not there would always be a one showing up in that section. I used the uninstaller to get rid of whatever software was left behind Identifying the files thru the printer number and it removed all the junk left behind when the printer was originally uninstalled. Now there is no one next to the Additional updates unless there is actually one that I need to do. It was so satisfying to finally get rid of that old printer driver that I could not get rid of any other way. Made me very happy!

Why do you have any issues that need checking? This video is a bit iffy, a title like "Free Programs that EVERY OC enthousiast should have!" would be more fitting as a bunch of those programs are much more for "OC + then testing things" than something useful to have all the time. I mean benching is pretty useless most of the time.

@@endemion06463 Kind of? Like yeah, OC enthusiasts definitely need these more, but there isn't any harm in having HWinfo for something to see how your system is running, and running a stability test/benchmark can still be useful, especially on new PCs (OP's PC is years old, it works, its fine), to ensure that the configuration is stable, even if it isn't being OCed, sometimes you just get a shit part. Like, you don't want to learn that your ram configuration is unstable a week later because it BSODs if the ram is under full load for more then 5 minutes.

Thank bro. This video helped me a lot. I sold my ps4 and bought me a gtx 1080 for my old 4th gen i5 pc. Most new and demanding games ran very bad - I got blue screen and random restarts often. I installed MSI after burner and I noticed my temps were very high on low settings. I cranked up my CPU and GPU fans and I'm able to game on high settings without any issues.

+1 for Fan Control, I can't live without it. It brought silence to a 12yr old computer, finds everything there is to control or sense from. It can also deal with hysteresis, how soon to react and over what time to ramp up/down the rpms so the speeds and noise are not fluctuating too much but adjust gradually, etc. Kudos for pointing out mathematically mixed sources for one control.

"It's not jiraffics it's graphics" - This is singlehandedly the best argument I've heard to call it with the "g" sound.
@d3str0i3r
@d3str0i3r 8 ай бұрын
pronounce Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation i'll wait the content of the acronym does not matter, its pronunciation is determined first by how the acronym feels in the mouth and how the creator of the acronym says it's pronounced if it does not make an existing word in this case, though, Graphics Interchange Format shortens into the old english Gif, pronounced Yiff, which is the original spelling of "if" so realistically, the G should neither be hard nor soft, it should be silent
@Koutouhara
@Koutouhara 8 ай бұрын
@@d3str0i3r Yeah exactly! Acronyms don't care about what the sound of the word that makes it, it's irrelevant to the pronunciation of the acronym; if it did matter than well known terms like LASER, AIDS, JPEG, and SCUBA wouldn't be pronounced by the standard that we do. GIF is just in a grey enough area that it can be pronounced both ways by what the speaker feels comfortable with. I personally have an accent that makes soft 'g' GIF more comfortable. People understand what I'm speaking about so it doesn't hinder communication, which is all that matters :) Plus, I don't want to have to pronounce SCUBA as 'scubba' 😬
@blackrock1961

The best argument to pronounce it with a soft G is because the creator of the format said that is the correct way to say it. I support the right of all inventors to name their invention.
@FoxBall47
@FoxBall47 8 ай бұрын
these kinds of arguments never hold water, as there are several words that use soft g's as well, pronounce "George" or "giraffe" or "gym" for example. the inventor of the format specified a soft g, and on top of that it rolls off the tongue far easier that way too.

I have learned more in the last 2 weeks watching this channel then I have in the past 6 years of being a PC owner. Oh also it's awesome to hear iBuyPower is a great company for pre-built PCs and I can attest to that seeing that my PC is 6 years old and I have never had one hardware nor software issues ever!!! Only issue I ever had was overclocking my CPU to 5.0ghz (i7-8700k) and it didn't like it lol. Now I'm running a rtx4070ti super, i9-13900kf, and 32 gb of ddr5 ram. Currently I'm using like 4 different apps (as Jay mentions) to control my RGB on my water cooled desktop system. I have RGB for case, fans, CPU/GPU water blocks, RAM, and mobo. It works and looks really cool but it is a real PITA if/when you want to change colors because you have to open each one and make changes on each app. So basically I don't change the theme much as I would like to. Lately I have had to turn off all RGB because for some reason when I enter sleep mode some of the RGB stay on and I don't know why. I am not about to a complete system reinstall at this time so I was wondering do you have to uninstall all these RGB apps before you install and use OpenRGB ? It would be nice have total control under one app. I'm not wanting to brick anything either.

Most of the programs you mentioned are beyond anything I need. However, I've used Revo for many years. It's an awesome program. Another program I use to monitor temps as well as get a lot of info on my systems is Speccy. My main computer is an old ASUS M5A97 R2.0 running Win 7 so I don't need a lot monitored and I understand nothing about over clocking. However, it does monitor the temps of the CPU, Motherboard, hard drives and my video card which is an AMD HD 5450 and right now it's running about 44 C. Nothing on my system runs any hotter than 50 C. I know it's not some big gamer's computer but I'm not a gamer. I have a couple shoot em up games I like to play just not online. The system is dual boot and the second drive is strictly for those games. Another of the programs you mentioned was Fan CTRL. I used it for a year or so and then removed it. I couldn't figure it out so I got rid of it. I was able to control the fan for the processor but none of the others. I did check it out online but most youtubers use language that I just don't understand. They don't use layman's terms so I have , in most cases, no idea what they're talking about. I do find your videos very interesting and understandable and they get me thinking. I think that's important so I'll continue to watch your videos. Take care and be safe
