People don't know it yet, but Amigo sits right in the den of Townes Van Zandt, Leonard Cohen, and other greats.. He is the most important living songwriter we have today. People don't know it yet. You heard it here first kids.

Back in the day when he was first starting out he popped into the bar i was working at in Tucson Arizona and dropped of a couple CDs and split. Didn't play a show or anything. My band hit the road for a little "tour" and my guitarist popped in the CD and we were like wtf?!?! Ended up bringing him out to play a fest between bands and in random places like the bathrooms of the venue. Played a couple shows together and kinda became friends. One time we were kicking it in a hot tub "drinking nose beers" with Attila from Mayhem and some other rocker foos. Fast forward a couple of years, and im living in the bay. I got to see him in the city and for a sec i catch myself being bummed/pissed that there were too many people there singing along and getting in my way. Stupid i know lol. Its been rad to see the rest of the world catch on to his genius and see Danny get everything he deserves while getting bigger and bigger. We felt like ATD was our little secret and it was up to us to spread the word. I turned a lot of people on to him over the years. We havent seen each other for a couple years now. Hopefully we get to reconnect down the road and play a show or 2 together again.

An intense and brutally honest, extremely talented writer like this comes along maybe every 100 years. He genuinely creates feeling and emotion in his material that EVERY song writer wishes they could come close to but never will. It is terribly unfortunate that the commercial bullshit, backed by BIG $$$ initially will drown out this amazing artist. At some point, hopefully sooner than later, he will get the recognition and adoration he deserves. I have heard nothing like him and probably never will again in my lifetime. I am just so grateful I was turned onto this. This is the most genuine, heart felt REAL and therapeutic music / artist to come to the surface in decades. I will listen to this for the rest of my life. It is simply brilliant, genius and so ahead of its time..... wow, ... just holy fucking wow!
@brandonglassock1484 жыл бұрын
Everything you said was 100% correct except one thing. Amigo will never be drowned out or forgotten. The masses have their corporatized product called 'music', but people like us will keep Amigo and the other real musicians relevant. It is truly a pleasure to have this exchange with you.
