In the 5 years that I've lived in Eastern Samar Philippines, I've been through 2 typhoons and both have been in December. In 2019 one hit on Christmas Eve.

I'm in the US midwest. We don't worry much about typhoons/hurricanes here. We stock up on bread and milk for winter blizzard forecasts. One local TV meteorologist rates winter storm forecasts as one, two or three loaves of bread & gallons of milk. 😁
