*my* version of season four would be that Cuba thing but with Will going 100% insane murderer mode and Hannibal being scared for the first time in forever, because Will is a *perfect* murderer, super clean and super untraceable. A d Hannibal is freaking out trying to stop Will from killing too many people. It's like the tables turned. And Will is acting like a bad bitch like "wasn't that what you wanted? To make me yours? To make me what you were? Why are you trying to stop me now? The last drop of sanity that wonce flooded my head is gone now, _Doctor Lecter_ . And I'm not going back" and Hannibal is terrified, confused and sad just like Will used to be. "Killer Will" is making Hannibal feel things. Things Hannibal never felt before. He feels vulnerable, and that's when Hannibal realizes how much he actually loves will. Because love brings vulnerability, and he's feeling the most vulnerable he has ever felt in his life. In the end, in the final scene they have this huge argument in which they discuss Will's lack of feelings, and Will is super calm while Hannibal is (visibly tired) yelling at him "I DON'T WANT YOU TO BE..." "To be what? You?" "HEARTLESS!" "Oh yeah? And what made you make that decision? I'm never good enough for you, I'llnever be what you want me to be because you don't want to be proud of me..." "WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? WILL, I *LOVE* YOU!" Hannibal cries and he falls on his knees, and he's just broken. There's just pure silence surrounding them and *And Will falls to his knees too* . The "I love you" was the trigger needed to bring old Will back. And he cries too, and they hug so tight it hurt both of them, and they don't let go. Then the credits pass and we have the post credits scene, which is Will and Hannibal living together in a comfortable house in the middle of nowhere, eating breakfast together all lovey dovey and then there's a close up on the "bacon" and the episode ends. Which implies that they found balance between will's light and dark sides.

That’s a great idea, because after Hannibal gets him to turn, what’s to say he won’t derail again. And it’s like a flip in power balance. Hannibal has slowly let himself go, he’s become more casual and unpredictable over the series. So to see him slipping while Will slips, like in the main series how they both grow together… it’s an amazing idea.

I am the kinda person who is a fanfic enthusiast to bizarre degrees. Like I would know barely anything about the plot and catch wind of some pairing through Tumblr and then immediately go ham with the fanfic. I have read several fanfics of fandoms where I donno shit about the source material. With Hannibal tho the problem I face is that I am too _specific_ about what I want out of the story. They can't be too murdery right away, but they also cannot not murder people, pfff as if; they can't fuck right away but they should certainly do it eventually after some serious pining because I personally see their dynamic as pretty sexual; Hannibal and Will can't submit to eachother too fully and become completely fluffy and normal because how even are those two gonna be normal..... but I also don't want them to have a dynamic that is too violent and unhealthy and I don't want them to be at odds all the time. My specifications get to a point where if I don't find works that are exactly how I want them, I can't enjoy them! It is adsurd. Sorry for going on and on, but this shit does not happen to me with any other fandom _and I don't get it._

I like the idea at the end when they are in their cells with Clarice staring at them that the cells are connected. Or they are able to, without them completely leaving the cell, enter each other's cells. I know it would be impractical but I feel like at that point everyone knows not to separate them.

a "shared cell" with a door in the wall for both to enter each others cell woud be prracticl actually. the staff could open and close the cells at their wish and just imagine how easy it would be to clean the cell! i read your comment and thought about this scenario for the whole night (bc its so weirdly romantic lol) and had to think about the scene in "silence of the lambs" where the staff cleans Lecters cell and has to spend much time restraining him and alwas have trouble moving him around so they can clean properly. its just so complicated! but with the cells being connected by a staff-controlled door, cleaning would be easier: they can just tell one of them to go into the others cell and then lock the door. quick and not impractical at all!

it would be interesting if Will got trapped in the state of being in the mind of being the murder after the second killing in Cuba. So like after he runs away because he's overwhelmed by it all he has a seizure or something and he puts himself into the shoes of himself during the murder and is unable to get out of it (so like goes into a coma kind of) and Hannibal has to somehow help him get out of it. but the only way Will can get out of the cycle is by accepting that he enjoyed the murder and embracing who he has become. and then they can make love and live happily ever after alrighty :)

It has been a while since you talk about Hannibal and Will in this channel, and to be honest I have been waiting for you to mention them again, so when I woke up, click open the KZbin, and saw the first video is this, I was like, OMG, is this real? Is this happening? Was I dreaming?? And when I watched the video, I seriously felt dizzying, kind of like getting tipsy from how perfect in tone your season 4 is. And all the snippets of joke is just pure, pure gold. "Bedelia is probably drinking wine and be like 'you these fuckers.'" made me laugh so hard. 😂 I really like your interpretation of Will, some fan fics portrait him too innocent and vulnerable and some make him too too dark. Yours has a really delicate balance, with a full agency, that is exactly why I found this character so fascinating. It made me think back in RDC3, Fuller once said Will could not go back to where he was after the fall, he had seen his potential, their potential, and he had acknowledged i, but his empathy would always be his fundamental characteristic, and it wouldn't be "bleached" for long. Hannibal would always, always have to fight for him. That is why I love their dynamic so so much, because it is so complicated, contradictory and at the same time, harmonious. they understand each other in a way that no any other soul in this planet can do. But at same time, they can never fully grasp or control another. And this mutual unpredictability made them appreciate each other more, made them in an equal footing. And I also love your "holding the knife and realized he can no longer kill him". Yesterday I was reading the scripts of the season 3 finale. Just after the escape and before Red Dragon come to them, Will and Hannibal both had briefly considered if they should just kill the other and be done with it. Will thought about using the gun to shoot Hannibal when he picked it up from dead cop, and Hannibal thought about using his corkscrew for wine bottle when Will admitted he wanted Dragon to "change" Hannibal. They both didn't do it, these thought remained fleeting impulses, because they were well aware they could no longer kill another. After all those years, they both know the answer to Will's question in Uffizi gallery, "whether either of us can survive the separation ", no, they can't. So they will live with each other to the end, or they die together, there is no other way. So I think in season 4, Will indeed would have some time to adjust to his new stage of live after the glorious fall, with the help and guidance of Hannibal. He would try to face who he is after so many years of self repression and self exclusion, maybe he would finally embrace the fact that he likes to do bad things to bad people, maybe be a vigilante, use his border line superpower empathy to track down bad people who escaped the law, and finally establish his own method of killing, just like he would be building his own mind palace. Hannibal would be watching this process and be very proud, though since he will still be Hannibal, sometimes he is all understanding and patient, sometimes a little bit manipulative, and always try to bond Will to him more tightly, being insecure about Will leaving him again. But Will won't. They will sort this out gradually, sometimes cause tension and conflict, but in the end they love each other so helplessly and irrevocably, so it will work out. I don't know if you have read the post313 fic Two Solitudes by emungere. Plot-wise it may not be as intense as A great and gruesome height (BTW I can see its influence on your interpretation, especially the airport scene, it made me smile and want to read it again!) , but it has a very accurate portrait of how their relationship would navigate and how they have to sort out and find solution to every shade cast by their shared past, and their dialogue in this fic, just the perfection itself. Wow I gushed a lot, it's just I have all sorts of analysis constantly brewing in my head about my OTP, and when I saw a 30 minutes deep discussion video I just couldn't help myself lol. (Still tipsy. ) Love your channel as always, looking forward to your next video!

Like imagine if the season after this was her working cases and consulting with our favorite murder husbands in prison because, while they’re both fucked up people, they’re also the best at getting inside the minds of killers. And they seem to have taken a weird kind of liking to her, so she might as well make the best of it right?? And after that it’s all deep metaphorical conversations and exchanges of information for little tidbits about her personal life and mental health, while she does her best to solve cases and not let them too far into her head, and they play with her and plan their escape together. Total side-note (as though that’s not what this entire comment has been), but I also highkey headcanon that the orderlies and prison-guards would eventually start referring to Hannibal and Will as Gomez and Morticia, as a kind of dark inside joke that’s also just way too accurate, because, like, they literally fucking are?? Like: _“To live without you, only that would be torture.” “A day alone, only that would be death.”_ BITCH!! If someone told me those were hannigram quotes I’d just be like “yeah, that sounds about right” And don’t even get me fucking started on the whole _“We gladly feast on those who would subdue us.”_ Thing, because bOIIIII I s2g I could literally spend days making headcanons for these two. i was just visualizing this as you were speaking and actually getting excited at the building tension and drama! I love that will and hannibal need some time to find thier footing together. I've seen some speculative post s3 fanfics that have will just dive headfirst into being a murderer and it just...i agree with your ideas, that he would need to adjust his thinking and have some time to really settle into his new life with hannibal, and will would need to process what that means. He's lived his life trying to catch murderers and i don't think it would necessarily be easy to just flip that switch, no matter HOW committed he is to hannibal. I'm torn as to jack's involvement in the series though, as much as i see him as a tenacious 'never give up the fight' kinda person, he just goes through so much because of will and hannibal, on top of losing his wife. i dont mind him giving clarice a few pointers as to hannibal and will's location but after that id like him to kind of fade into the background and like. retire. because if he keeps going after will and hannibal he WILL die. and i dont want that for him.

Oh my god. thank you so much for this video. i just watched hannibal for the first time now that netflix is showing it and i. have. been. missing. out. my entire world was tipped on its head from this love story. i suppose im lucky to be watching it now when more seasons are suddenly a real possibility. except now i'm scared the real seasons won't be as good as this interpretation here. honestly, all i've been able to think about for the past week is how hannibal would end, and looking for super realistic fic and finally this video has scratched the itch of what i think would be pretty much perfect. it feels true to the characters and has just enough tension for where they ended off. like holy shit CLARICE fuck i love silence of the lambs and she really would pull the story together so well (esp gay clarice!!!!!!!!). i saw another commenter suggest she work with miriam lass and YES please oh my god i was always waiting for miriam to return. i do have an alternate ending of your interpretation in my mind (where season 4 would be the very end). in this storyline jack and everyone still hold hope for will, they can't quite comprehend his changes and wonder if he would stop if they can get him away from hannibal. jack is especially defensive when anyone suggests he needs to kill will, though his bloodlust for hannibal is strong. say they all get to the penultimate moment, together in alana and margot's mansion fighting. bedelia is dead and pretty much everyone is wounded and everything pauses for a moment, tense. i imagine alana injured, on the floor with margot next to her and will knows this is his chance to kill them but he hesitates looking in alana's eyes, and has a flash of familiarity (killer with a conscience yas) and hannibal looks at him and knows and understands that it won't happen. will is his own person after all. will takes note of hannibal's injuries and sees that jack is poised to kill hannibal any second now, they can't fight off his bullets, and he doesn't want it to end this way, he wants just a moment more. so will takes hannibal and runs to another room. they don't have anything to say, they just look at each other for a moment (which speaks volumes, they can practically read each other's minds at this point and real words aren't even enough) and jack is just a step behind. will turns and shields hannibal's body with his own and jack tries to talk will out of stepping to the side, that will doesn't have to die. will refuses (and i imagine hannibal smiling against will's hair, not even looking at jack just breathing in will and looking utterly happy that they've come to this beautiful, requited love). will tells jack that he should not take responsibility for him and that will has found happiness and jack can now find peace. i imagine jack would see them together and suddenly know what they mean to each other and in a last act of respect, he decides not to tear them apart but to kill them both (with one bullet? symbolism?). i have heard the theory that jack symbolizes god and after all of his bad decisions, it seems appropriate for him to bring justice. wow this was long i'm sorry lol turns out i had a lot of thoughts to get out. i still love your ending and desperately want to know what s5 would look like in that case. and i have the same feeling that they need to 'consummate' and reach their full potential in that sense, their full becoming. anyway will and hannibal would definitely kill some homophobe's. i also hope that they would rewrite buffalo bill, perhaps to mirror what he did in sotl but without the transphobic insinuations bc gay! rights!

As far as clarice!! Ohhh man i love her being able to track down hannibal and speak with him but she would really need to be clever to manage to have that conversation and survive. and after all is said and done in your season, with the murder husbands in jail and clarice victorious in finding her killer and saving the innocent life at risk. We could follow clarice's rise in her career after this boost of noteriety and the ups and downs of having attention on you in that way. She could meet zeller and price and they could have a little chat about how it was working with will and hannibal back in the day, making jokes about how of course they knew the whole time SOMETHING was up with those two. I love her going to visit will and hannibal to get their input on cases. And of course will and hannibal being in prison again could be interesting in all sorts of ways. the trial itself (still a little sad we didn't see a bit more of hannibal's trial, could have been hilarious), reminiscing about the times they were previously in jail, FREDDIE LOUNDS popping in to gloat, the tension in being together but unable to touch now that they've finally got comfortable getting...physical ;) flirting insufferably through plastic barriers, will reaching out to touch the glass between them like in season 3 but hannibal reaching out too and mirroring their hands! Clarice coming in to get their perspective would seem at first to be a 'oh great are we just watching silence of the lambs' but its made so different by will and hannibal playing off of each other and one upping each other. after all, will was the top man for fbi profiling, he has experience in finding killers. And hannibal is always full of insight and intellectual perspective. and smugness. also its entirely possible they would at some point be separated from each other. they dont have control in their environment, maybe they misbehave or perhaps their side by side lodging was temporary to begin with, but they are forced apart and would THAT be interesting. Thier co-dependency issues start to rear up, they can't stand being separated NOW. We see the change in behavior and how it highlights just how much they need each other now, will being withdrawn and angry/lashes out, hannibal being cold and disinterested and incredibly cruel to any who dare approach him while trying to seem above it all. clarice trying to engage the two of them separately now and being frustrated at the lack of help and the recipient of their anger. they may have all built up a bit of tentative respect (mentor/mentee?) before but now, with them apart it's almost impossible to get anything useful out of them (and at a point where she may be very close to solving a huge case or one with a particularly nasty killer). Maybe clarice is starting to become frustrated with her work being stifled and obstructed by a combination of sexist bosses, misogyny in the law enforcement career and the general discomfort with being a figure in the public eye. I'd imagine the pressure in on her to solve whatever big profile case she is dealing with. And while of course clarice is clever and insightful in her own right, she had come to ...enjoy? depend on? hannibal and will to guide her through her process. Now that they are decidedly uncooperative, she is forced to solve things on her own. which she does OF COURSE because she's amazing and we love her. i think her girlfriend would be key to her storyline as well, calming her down, urging her forward, helping sort through her ideas and theories for the killers she catches, encouraging at first then discouraging her from seeing will and hannibal once she sees the effect they have on her girlfriend. clarice arguing that she HAS to see them, that their insight is too valuable, that it doesn't matter what they say to her or how it hurts her, she is catching killers and that is worth any toll it takes on her mind (jack's influence! the parallels to will!!!). At some point, Will and Hannibal escape again because of course they do. And now Clarice has to try to track them down. and the cat and mice games begin anew.
