Amina Mohamed beaten: Chadian dims Amina's hopes for AU commission chair

Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed has lost her bid for the Chair of the African Union Commission. She was defeated in the seventh round by former Chadian Prime Minister Moussa Faki Mahamat, in an election that took place in Addis Ababa.
A tally of the votes showed Mohamed and Mahamat neck-and-neck in the last three rounds of voting, with Mahamat only prevailing in the final, seventh round.
