I never heard this before I listened to Amira singing it. Don't think Ray Vandenburg wrote it, he's just the guy who takes Amira songs and puts fantastic videos behind them. Often with subtitles in English. There is another version of this one with less Christian imagery, it has ballet dancers swooping to the music. The lyrics still convey optimism and hope though. Amira likes an inspirational song. Watch Zoals vrienden done, it's one of the few Amira has sung in her native Dutch, but Ray V has put a fantastic video, with English lyrics, behind it, and it's got such a positive vibe, and of course, Amira 's soaring vocals.

It probably is a religious song, but it can also be interpreted as a friend, a partner, a sibling, a parent, a child always being there for you through whatever life throws at you. A beautiful song.. and when sung by Amira.. the sincerity of the lyrics become both reassuring and uplifting. One would hope that everyone has that presence or someone by their side...

Great reaction, Rory! This song was composed by Johan Oberholzer especially for Amira's third album. Her coach during the recording was mezzo-soprano Corlea Botha. The album was released on March 2, 2018, 25 days before Amira's 14th birthday. The title of this crossover genre album is "With All My Heart". The Arizona Veterans Association uses Amira's albums as music therapy.
