Yes, it shows her father, Gerrit Willighagen,instead of the actual male singer, Ruhan du Toit. She was 13, here; and this song hit the top of the Netherlands "top 40" for a couple of weeks.

I love this video, which shows the mutual support the family show each other, so many clips from Amira 's life. It was put together by Ray Vandenburg, who calls them Song Stories, he did it for several of her early releases. It's particularly useful where he has added lyrics to the ones not sung in English. Another of his which I like, but doesn't get much attention is Zoals Vrienden doen. ( as friends do) it's one of the few songs you hear Amira sing in her native Dutch, but Ray has added English subtitles for monoglots, and it's quite beautiful. I think you'll like it when you add it to your playsuit. Great reaction BTW, I agree with everything you say. The world could do with more love and mutual support.

Although Amira's father still lived and works in the Netherlands the family remains very close and her father regularly visits them in South Africa.

Great reaction! This video is a fan edit. I don't really know if Amira sang this song in honor of her father or her mother or to parents in general, not least because she was 13 years old and far from the age to "spread her wings and fly". When she sang a song in tribute to her late maternal grandmother, she was explicit about it. So I personally find it unlikely that on the same CD she commissioned a song for her grandmother, another for her father and none for her mother, to whom she has always been very close.

Amira's parents are divorced as I remember correctly. Amira lives in South Africa with her mother and brother and her father lives in The Netherlands.

Yes, her parents are divorced - they had to, for her mother to retain her South African citizenship. The three of them have lived in Potchefstroom, SA, since January 1 2018.
