This is one of my favorites of his. I always think of my paternal granddaddy who wore an old straw hat and, no doubt in my mind, it hid a halo. He wore khaki pants and white or khaki shirts and smelled of the earth that he worked in and the Juicy Fruit gum which he always carried in his pocket. He was a storyteller, a good, upright family man, and the song leader at Mace’s Hill Missionary Baptist Church where there was no piano, no restrooms and no air conditioning. But my grandfather would roll up the songbook in his hand and lead the singing without ever opening the old hymnal. Something died in me the day the Lord called him home. He was my friend, my confidant and my champion and I’m fairly certain he walked on water. Looking forward to a great reunion coming soon.

This song…this song…is amazing. Chris’ phrasing and pauses are spot on. Just seems to be a peaceful flow of consciousness on his side. The music is exceptional and follows along with the almost dreamscape like lyrics. It’s just a phenomenal performance…one of the best I’ve heard in years. And you’re right. He’s one of the very best that’s ever been. I heard someone once call him a unicorn, and think so, too!

You can recognise Dimash's mother, because Dimash inherited the infamous "staccato" from his mother, and here she did it just before Dimash started singing (it's the lady with long hair). Thank you for the wonderful reaction, just as always. God bless you and keep you from harm.❤️✌️

The only way to stop being sent to war is stop leaving your country and refuse conscription if it's forced upon you. Every country's military is there to protect their own country, not someone else's. Governments don't give a shit about anyone but themselves. They want you dead.

There are others commented that the mix on this wasn't optimised for Emma's voice which is a shame. Nevertheless her talent is clear. There is another version of Hallelujah that Emma sang after an interview with the same television channel. In this one Emma is accompanied only by Rob Mennen on piano so her voice is much more prominent. kzbin.info/www/bejne/o5KTYneOq6tojM0

The lady with the hat is the Kazakh opera singer Maira Mukhammedkyzy. She was the first Kazakh who sang at the Parisian Grand Opera. She was his teacher in university. There are a video on KZbin where they sang Akkyum (My Swan) together. It#s on the same concert in Bastau in 2017. It is such a beautiful but sad song. I think you have it on your list. kzbin.info/www/bejne/d4DSgH-bZbZsfck The other teacher was Marat Aitimov. You saw him in the documentaries by LiLaSi about teachers. Greetings and love from Germany👋❤️

The semi final of the show, and Amira 's second appearance. It was just before Christmas 2013, and the judges were really anxious as they knew Amira had been suffering from a cold/ chest infection for a week or so before, and hadn't been able to rehearse. She was still self taught at this stage in her singing career too. Out she came, onto the stage, and blew them away. That's why Gordon climbed onto the desk. They were relieved. There was a quiz question once - how many different Ave Maria's has Amira sung? The answer was 4. Undoubtedly the best performance in my opinion is the one from Christmas 2015, when she was 11, singing William Gomez's Ave Maria at the Canisius church in Holland, supported by her family on various musical instruments. It is quite jaw dropping. To see her so immersed in the hymn that she is transported to another place. One opera singer remarked that it was life changing to watch it.

Great reaction again. And Amira's performance is really moving. The lyrics of this piece by Charles Gounod were extracted, like in all the other Ave Maria, from the Gospel of Luke, precisely the Annunciation, or the announcement by the archangel Gabriel to Mary that she would conceive and bear a son. Anyway, no doubt we have an angel here... 😊

You are right, Emma is incredible. Even at age 12 she had a power beyond my comprehension. A respectful observation, that this video is from December 2023 so Emma was still only 15. Her 16th birthday was March 12th ♥ I saw Emma singing live for the first time last Friday in Birmingham - the sound of her voice was otherworldly. Because of the quality of Andre Rieu's sound systems, I seemed to feel it from inside of my body too. Maybe a better description is to say that it was like drowning in the sound. Certainly I could barely breathe.

Hello Paul!, Such a great voice Dimash's mother has, her high notes amazed me. Dimash has worked hard to become the great artist he is today and, knowing a little about Dimash's career, he has always been accompanied by his parents and teachers who have transmitted great musical knowledge and human values to him. Everything came together and that can be seen in all the good things that Dimash conveys with his music. This is my reflective comment today 🤔☺️. Take care sir, my best wishes from across the ocean one more day. 👏🎶👋

You see Amira waving here as she comes on stage. She is waving to family and friends in the audience. Her fan base was mushrooming by now and some encouraged her to keep doing it. For the next ten years or so she kept waving but now to her fans in the audience and at home.

There is another song, called dearest mother, where Dimash joins his parents on stage to sing just with them, I believe it was a Mother’s Day event. And the grandparents of Dimash, are shown in the audience. I look forward to waking up (in the U.K.) and seeing what song from Dimash, you have posted.
