Was not bothered as a old head. Was not controversial in anyway to me. Ur first point about songs like WAP is dead on parents should raise their children. I would say that I think ppl are more upset that their may be too many cardi bs and not enough rhapsodies or Lauren Hills so I do not discount their view points either. I get more upset when older ppl get involved in these conversations, hip hop is youth driven son why are 30 somethings but hurt about it? Ur last 2 points were about younger ppl listening to older music. Shit mid 90s is my cut off. I did not listen ready 2 die until I was 25 plus( as a classic album all the songs were known to me). The only thing I would disagree about is that groups like the migos should never be compared to tcq or wu tang totally different music. Nor should fans of either be concerned with each other. 1985 by jcole is how I feel about young rappers from start to finish. The people he was referring to music will not age well imo.

my controversial opinion is that as much as we might hate it, young people arent obligated to listen to / like the music we grew up on just because it was important to us/a genre. if someone says that 80s electro music is cheesy then thats their opinion. telling them the history and impact of it doesn't change how they actually perceive it

When I first got into hip hop I only listened to old school stuff, then I realized there was new better beats and sound quality and it made me appreciate new hip hop even more. But when I try to go back to old music again, if the beat and the flow is not hitting, then I immediately get bored and skip the song, seems like nowadays I can mostly only tolerate Biggie and Nas old tracks, but 75% of the old school music is boring to me now because a song is more than just lyrics: it’s your rhythm, flow, and instrumental. but the point still stands. People go to onlyfans for a specific experience that you wouldn't get anywhere else or with the same quality. Only fans offers specific content that you couldn't get unless you paid for it unless someone leaked the content. And even then, you're at the mercy of a paying patron to leak the content for you to see. Some content creators offer direct, private communication with fans and personalized content. You aint getting that from that specific content creator unless you pay for it. You cant bootleg a real time, private direct communication or a personalized content experience with someone. so in some big ways that make onlyfans unique from similar services like Instagram or KZbin or twitch, people really don't pay for something unless they can find a justifiable reason for why they should pay rather than take what they can get for free. onlyfans included.

THANK YOU! I completely agree that artists shouldn’t have censor themselves or watch what they say because they’re a “role model” since it’s not that hard to control what you do and don’t listen to, it’s the same with movies as it is with music in my opinion. It’s up to the parents to decide what their kid can handle so if you wouldn’t let them watch an R-rated movie then don’t let your kid listen to explicit lyrics. It’s not that deep, so if you don’t like what they’re saying then it’s super easy, you don’t have to listen to it. I’m sick of people acting like just because they don’t like or agree with something then that means no one else should either, like no, get it over and go listen to the music you actually like.

People are different and have different opinions about certain things and I accept it but for me personally time of something doesn't mean much. I completely agree with point 5. Anything hip hop before 2000 just hits my ear different it doesn't feel right. But at the same time I do like rappers of my generation on old school type beats its weird. Like Joey Badass 1999 that shit was heat. But tell me to listen to an actual 90s rappers full album and imma look at you like you crazy 😂😂

Number 5 depends on the genre, in hip hop, I would say that there's a couple of albums before 1992 that are standouts, but for other genres there's a lot of shit that you're missing out on. Stevie Wonder has a ton of great albums that were before the 90s and I think that those albums sound pretty fucking good 😂.
@jusblazed4 жыл бұрын
Stevie Wonder is so underappreciated. Singer, songwriter, composer, instrumentalist, and a child prodigy. That five album run in four years (Music of My Mind - Songs in the Key of Life) is something I doubt anyone could ever do again.

As a metal guy I couldn’t agree more. You got stuff like Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Metallica, Megadeth, or if you want something more extreme there’s Bathory, Venom, Mercyful Fate, Morbid Angel, Death, and that’s not even digging into the endless underground stuff

Good vid! I actually like your fifth point and reasoning behind it; however, I will say this though: As a DJ, I have found that the younger generation is more willing to explore older music than the older generation is willing to explore newer music. It could be because of the idea that there are now classics in hip hop that are essentially timeless, but I think those classic records are what will bring the younger generation to explore older music.

I agree with all except the last one. Mainly because the majority of the music I listen to was made before I was born (I was born in 1999). If I'm listening to something after 1999, it's probably something from 2000s because I grew up in that decade.

@bootythunder33123 жыл бұрын
Have a goat per sub genre in rap always made more sense to me. Even than it be hard to choose a particular rapper for each position. Like saying snoop dogg is the goat of G Funk would be an easy one, but deciding the goat of boom bap be difficult since youmhave tomchoose between Nas, KRS one, Rakim, Black thought etc.... like thats a tough one for me to decide

Some parents try to prevent kids from listening to explicit music altogeather without realising their kids can just listen to that music at school with friends. So its best to just teach them the rights and wrongs instead of trying to hide it from them.

That first one... my response to that is you are a product of YOUR environment not saying you can’t do better and be better but music shouldn’t influence you to do bad things if you do that shit get caught YOU live with the consequences not the artist who made the songs who influenced you it’s YOUR fault based off YOUR actions!

On the 5th I totally agree when it comes to rap music but for RnB it’s a completely different story for me. Not saying today’s Rnb is bad but it’s just something about old school RnB that just hits different.

Bruh on point 5 you missing out on like 60% of musics history. I ain’t listening to Ice T etc but I think to be a “rap fan” it’s damn near mandatory to at least listen to 90s rapper such as Nas, Pac, BIG, Wu-Tang, etc. Chances are it will still have some of the same sounds and aspects you like in today’s music. That’s like saying I’m an NBA fan but anything prior to LeBron arrival is irrelevant to me 😂

That makes no sense. Why is it that you have to listen to the 90s to be “considered” a rap fan? Why not the 80s? It sounds like you just made up something as your criteria. The reality is, to be considered a rap fan, you just have to enjoy rap music. No matter the era.

I agree with the not buying an artist album doesn't make you a fan. I'm a huge fan. I used to buy albums in the 90s & 00s. But the digital era changed that. But the albums sales money doesn't goto the artists anyways. It goes to to label cats. My Way of supporting an artists is listening to the music & going to there concerts to support the artists pocket.

Number 3 should not be controversial at all in my opinion. There’s people like me who use music streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music. Why would I need to spend more money on music when I am already paying money to listen to whatever songs I want? Like no one in the car is gonna be like “aight put the cd in”. Like I don’t know anyone that has a speaker that plays cd music anymore lol. To me, you’re no less of a fan of an artists music if you’d rather listen to it on a streaming service that you are already paying for. You’re just being logical with your money
@shadowandluigifan9894 жыл бұрын
I agree with a lot of these but in regards to number 2, it doesn't make you "not a real fan" if you choose not to buy an album as there are a few good reasons as to why someone may not do so, but I think there's a bit more value to buying an album than just listening to it for free because it's supporting an artist financially and helping them survive (although popular artists like 21 Savage and Eminem won't be hurt if you choose not to buy their albums because they're already rich af as they are. It's good to buy albums from smaller artists you enjoy when you're able to tho). Granted it's stupid to brag and act superior to other people just because you bought an album and they didn't, but I can see why someone would find more value in actually buying the album. I personally like buying CDs of artists I enjoy occasionally just for the sake of supporting them, also because there's something about physical copies of things that holds special value to me (but that's just a me thing) lol. And in response to number 5, I think there's some great music from older time periods but I can see why someone would lose interest after finding out what era an album is from because older music has a tendency of sounding really dated by today's standards, especially in regards to production. Granted that doesn't apply to all older music because some of it still holds up well but I can see why someone would have doubts. Part of me gets a bit skeptical if I find out it's from before 1980 or 1990 (and especially if its before 1970).

Personally I hate it when people act like if someone innovated something then that makes that artist better than everyone else that's inspired by it. I thought we were judging them based on the quality of their work,not judging them based on if they're innovating or not,I think some people need to realize that innovation isn't the most important part of something,it's the quality of it.

An unpopular opinion I have is that you shouldn't hate an artist unless you don't like them personally. Like if they are a douche. If you don't like their music, cool. But don't hate on someone just because you think their music is ass. Like I hate Russ but that's because he had two dudes go get this dude that he didn't like. Fuck that man and his music is ass. But I still respect rappers like Trippie Red, Tecca, Pump, because they seem like cool people and honestly haven't done anything bad. Even though I don't like their music, I still don't hate on them personally. I don't like Diisigner's style, flow, beat, anything but he seems like a fun dude who is in the rap game because he is a hype beast. The amount of people who shit on Kanye personally just because they didn't like fucking Yeezus is too high.
