Hello! There is no problem with the azimuth alignment hole, in fact it is at the perfect place. The secret is that Luxman made it special, they put an extra hole on their own cassettes, and that hole on the Luxman cassettes aligns with this hole. So if you want to align the azimuth, you have to get a Luxman cassette. Hope this helps. Thank you for this video! 🙂

Excellent video. I vaguely remember a deck I was tinkering with had potentiometers for the VU meter. I assumed that you would measure tape output by one method, then set the VU meter to match that. I could be incorrect though, but maybe the VU meter needs to be calibrated to the actual line out.

For best approach it is good to use service manual explainimg all calibtation steps and signal level at test points. Unfirtubately I do not have one yet, so I will leave it as is atm. Thank you for watching.

@@CBitsTech For poking arpund with cassette deck etc scope is probably owerkill. Also im using usb oscilloscope alot, much smaller and portable - Analog Discovery
