What a grand view of doing the chores, and with fine people and horses at work! So pastoral.

This way of life is unimaginable today. I'm 57 years old. I'm from the Balkans, in Europe. In my life I lived and did the same things as the Amish shown here. I can praise the video and all the people who are Amish. A message for the Amish, "That's real life" .

I have been seeing so many amish homes being auctioned off the past few months. I take pictures when I am down there so I can remember the simple life as it was. And to remember that I went there to drive around for the peaceful place it is. Thanks for sharing.

Enjoyed your video of baling & stacking on the wagon. Growing up on the farm I remember doing the same thing for my father. Later on my father purchased a bale wagon & it made our job a lot easier .

I love the team of 6.. I was wondering how they got the full carts to the barns, would they unhitch the cart and back another team in, but I was amazed as the video went on, to see they use a tractor...

Why they don't use tractors?
@joebufford29724 ай бұрын
This is how it was done, no electricity, no gasoline. And still they provided for themselves and others and can do it long after electric cars and diesel trucks are gone
@joebufford29724 ай бұрын
@EthanWesWalker I agree with you. If I could, everything I drive would be diesel and hopefully made from used cooking oil or other renewable sources

Can use a hay bailer but not a tractor? Where’s the logic in that?

I agree, from a conventional farming viewpoint, logic would dictate making full use of all technology available. However, it depends how you view success in farming. The conventional approach has, by any measure, removed 10’s thousands of people off the land and out of rural communities, it’s made it difficult for many to make reasonable return on their time and effort & produces crops that are treated as industrialised commodities that in many instances are over processed into food like substances that are dangerous to human health. The current health crisis in the US, Northern Europe etc is testament to a human health and ecological disaster driven by the modern food production system where the only meaningful measure of success is how profitable it is for large corporations. Amish farming methods, on the other hand, generally do the opposite.
