Another GREAT video from Meadowlark ! I enjoy watching your videos so much. If I would have known about y’all before we had our house built, we would’ve hired y’all. We wanted to build a log cabin on our mountain here in north central Washington state, but we couldn’t find a reputable log cabin builder. Our stick built house was finished in 19. But we’re looking at properties in Montana to buy and have Meadowlark build a log cabin for us, then sell our existing house and relocating to Montana after my wife retires. We LOVE the “Trout Creek” bedroom 2 bath cabin. The floor plan is perfect for us. We’ll have to pay extra for the roof in the front to overhang a bit more but it’ll be worth it in the end. I like how anything can be changed to accommodate our specific needs.

We’ve been looking at land around that area, as well as other areas. I’m a Washington native and we are tired of the Communist Leftist Government here in Washington. Thankfully we’re in an area which are mostly Right and don’t take kindly to the Left

Yes we run it tucked under the log inside against the pressure treated plate. After wiring is completed the plate is covered in trim to hide the wires.

We use larch and lodgepole pine logs and they are all local Montana trees from forest improvement practices.

Elvie, with all the snow I've seen this year on different videos, why does no one install some type of heating element between the insulation & the roof to melt the snow ? It would only have to reach a max temp of 45-50° to accomplish this & thus prevent the massive snow loads & having to climb up to remove the snow. It could be done with CPVC & have warmed antifreeze pumped through a sealed system. I can't seem to get an answer from anyone I ask about this. Have a great day 😊.

I think such a thing would be too costly to install and would use too much electricity. Snow buildup on the roof is not a problem.
