My parent's must have been Amish, we (my family) moved into the basement and we had wood cook stove, fireplace for heat, a very cold winter, stay several months while the upstairs part of house was being built, in the late 1950s. Enjoy all your videos, beautiful log homes and your new family home is at a wonderful location and will be super nice and comfortable to live in. Best to all!!

Wow between the root cellar and the greenhouse that is absolutely amazing. The planning of this home has obviously taken a very long time to put so much in it. I am in awe for sure just thinking about ALL of the amenities and my goodness that home is built like Fort Knox lol. Totally amazing. God's blessings to you all.

Like the sink for the kitchen. Wish my mother had that years ago when we had the wash machine, it would have made wash day so much easier. Could use the canning and root cellar rooms for my family now. Am liking the layout of your home. Understand the reasoning of your home. Being of German decent the moving into a home is important our family would have done it in the same way. There are no original buildings left that show this progress. Myself would have preferred cows or goats in the bottom with a milk room and cooler for milk and cheese. Everyone would have their own spin on what was important for their lifestyle. May you continue in plans of getting your family safely in your home as soon as possible.

We're coming to love in the basement, and right next to all the canning and stored food with a mountain view, be a great Amish BB... I'll bet the project has been a big job besides all the other log home builds going on at the same time

Coming along nicely. Thank you for the tour. My I suggest with the pot filler faucet that you put hot water instead of cold. This will help overall with cooking because most of the time you want hot water anyhow.

That looks to be an amazing Cabin. Just an idea to consider, on the styrofoam walls you wanna line with Sheetrock, one person told me he wished he would have lined it with osb first because later when you wanna hang picture frames or anything else for that matter you are not limited. Just a added thought they make high dence foam sheets various thickness 4' X 8' for added incelation and sound proofing 🐤🐤👍 .

regular R21 insulation wont do anything for sound proofing need to use rock wool for sound proofing in the walls too. It does a great job.
