People like Sarah are often times why people are so stingy with money (and I mean this in a 'they never offer to help friends out because they're afraid of being taken advantage of. One time becomes two, two, becomes four, so on and so forth' way). I can't tell you how nice it would be to have a rich friend willing to just help me and get me things. I don't ask for much, a safe place to live, a comfy bed, my own room, food, necessities, and occasional luxuries like video games. I could never imagine spending $45k in such a short amount of time. Over the course of a year? Maybe. In a month or two? Absolutely not.

Husband is definitely the jerk. He knew that the situation was not okay for his family to come over and he still allowed them to. If he had a backbone, he would have at least explained the situation to them and said they could come over another time. Not only that, he knew they were coming and purposefully decided not to tell his wife. This shows that he knew that it was not right for them to come over but he wanted her to be backed in a corner. He wanted his family over in an inconvenient situation, there’s no problem with him dealing with them. It would have been on thing if he was not in the know either. But he was colluding with them. I had to skip halfway through the first one, I don't really give a ish about some rich kids problem being used by a so-called friend. You're rich this is the problem that you're going to have in the first place and I can guarantee you none of your friends would be your friend if you didn't spend as much money on them.
