Amitosis is the king of cell division, which occurs without the formation of spindle fibres. This type of cell division is found mainly in prokaryotic organisms like cyanobacteria and bacteria and it is also observed in eukaryotic organisms like unicellular fungi (yeast cells) and in endosperm cells of plants, diseased cells like tumor and cancerous cells.
there are two steps in amitosis. These are karyokinesis and cytokinesis, which means division of nucleus and cytoplasm, respectively. The karyokinesis occurs by two methods, either by nuclear budding or nuclear fragmentation.
