I want to play and try it out, I first learned about FF6 and Terra from her in The Disseia games. And I always wanted to see her backstory and learn about her game. But it’s just I’m not a fan of the graphics...now if they remade FF6 or gave us a Remaster version, of the game weres the graphics and Terra looked as good as she did in Dissdia then, I definitely try it out. Also Kefka too, he was a love and hate character for me in Dissdia, so I wanted to see more of him in FF6. But I just can’t get into with optimal game looking the way it does. I’m sure for its time, it looked amazing, but nowadays...hopefully they do a remake of the game.

1:04 The best part of this opening FMV... introducing Final Fantasy's first female heroine. And the newly-composed music brings chills down my spine! Square definitely got the art of FMV down by FF6! By the way, Terra > Lightning. Terra shows the world that you can be girly and still be a hero.

I wish they would put it on 3ds or something. I'm playing the snes version but it's so sensitive and old. The slightest bump crashes the game. Also I like Terra's green hair better :/. When I see her in this I think of Celes more.

The steam version is best if you mod it properly to make it not suck. Still has new espers and sidequests from the GBA version. Its actually quite hard to get all the right mods, though. Took me a few hours on google to get everything good and working.

Pocoryu The European version of FF:A comes with FF4 and FF5. In Europe, FF6 was sold on its own as a PS1 game (since the SNES version never came out there). The American version comes with FF5 and FF6. FF4 came with another bundle named Final Fantasy Chronicles, which came with Chrono Trigger (never release in Europe until 2008).

This CGI came out after 7's. This was released with FF4 years later on cd to be like here is two greats FF games that we released back on SNES under the wrong titles. Just like they re-released Chrono Trigger with animated scenes.

@dyllman5 It's the original Final Fantasy 5 and Final Fantasy 6 from the Super Nintendo bundled into one. The only new feature is a beautiful CGI sequence at the beginning and after you beat the game.

Anthology version is the worst version of FF6, with all the load times and degraded audio. If you want to get FF6 alone, get the Android/iOS or the GBA version. But if you're looking for the best value for money, you can't go wrong with the Anthology version, because it comes with FF5, another superb game, and if you're lucky you can get it for around $10 online (if you're American). Just don't get FF6 PS1 itself.

Maybe a dumb question but this is a remastered version for ps1? The cutscenes looks great compared to the one on my iPad version, which I assume is nes/snes? But this intro cutscene is way different than the one in the original game I'm playing. I'd think it's better to play the original version first since this already skipped a bunch of the intro info that scrolls down the screen and gives you some really amazingly well written back story.

The Steam version is based on the GBA version. The GBA version is pretty much a direct port except for a few new features. There are four new Espers: Leviathan, Gilgamesh, Gigantuar, and Diablos. A new dungeon called Dragon's Den and a place called Soul Shrine where you can fight monsters endlessly. There are three new spells: Flood, Valor, and Gravija. There's a beastiary and music screen. The script has been changed to be more true to the Japanese version.

They have their pros and cons. The GBA version is generally 'better' for having the highest quality translation and all the new content. But the audio is watered down and the colors have that gross brighter tint. So the SNES version is better in that regard. The PSX version doesn't have anything better; it's a poorly emulated port.

Kefka is the BEST villain in the original 10. Just think: He WON. He destroyed the world, exactly as he wanted to, and remade it how he wanted it to be. He was crazy, yeah, but he was also cold and calculating. Just cause he went honeybadger doesn't lessen his impact anymore.

I feel like the state of the Arc podcast has it right in saying in their weekly in depth evaluation of this game that the more powerful opening was the original one, leaving the purpose of the mechs a mystery until they reach Narsh. Its opening fading to black instead of to the white they do here leaves a far more oppressive and impactful feeling.

ok guys i just watched a review of this game by JeremyJahns and he sold me on it. Ive played FF7, 8, 9, 10, 12 and 13, but have never given anything under 7 a chance. I will play it and see what i think.

I think FF 4-6 is awesome. I recommend all of them. FF6 is definitely the best of the trio. You should also check out Chrono Trigger if you haven't already. Chrono Trigger and FF6 are the best RPGs on the SNES. Tales of Phantasia is the third best.

In my opinion/experience, (#takeitwithagrainofsalt), 4 is a definite contender with 6 in music and storytelling. 5 is also good if you like character/class building (which I don’t personally, as I get too distracted and confused easily).

***** It will always be my favorite FF game, 7 I mean cuz' it was my first, the characters were lovable, the music, the world, stories, etc. But FF6 seems like a better story with better plots, even though some are silly but hey! It's way more serious too! Terra has more emotions and backstory than Cloud does. Despite him being chosen for Smash cuz' of his popularity and blah blah this backstory and character, Terra had bigger tragic times with murdering hundreds of soldiers at the mercy of a very bad guy who enjoys killing as much as The Joker from Batman. In fact, he IS the Joker. Kefka is a Jester so naturally, yeah? Plus, even though Sephiroth has a big backstory and has a reason to be a villain, it's sympathetic. Kefka is pure villainy cuz' he likes it. That's enough to hate him and thus makes him a true villain more than Sephiroth. FF6 seems like the best FF game but still, FF7 will be my favorite. But just the same, I fell in love with FF6 after I played it. I want people to know this game too. I wanted Terra to be the first Square character in Smash. That's why I have mixed feelings of Cloud being selected.
