I like the little blink and you'll miss it bit with Shadow. If you pause it right when the screen flashes, it shows a picture of Relm.

Y'know... using current technology, graphics like this could be pulled off in real time. If someone at square/enix accidentally leaked the models they used, I can almost guarantee to you that the community would whip up a Full 3d Final Fantasy VI in a matter of months if not weeks, and it would be 100% faithful to the original in mechanics but vastly improve every visual element in the game.

I've never played any other game that could top this except in graphics in my own opinion. Great characters, story (like you said), a great villain, character development, and plus it grabs the players emotions. If they just remade the game with graphics like FF 13 then they would make a lot of money. You I agree with: one of the best games ever played

Good questions. I believe the bandana/piece of material is a meaningful (to Celes) reminder albeit it sentimental of the man (Locke) who saved her. She is thankful yet pushes away those feelings because they do not serve a practical purpose and sometimes elicit unwanted emotions.

@ChrisspacePatti Dont fret my friend because i believe Square Enix will surprise us soon enough. They have stated that they may be considering a Remake for the 3DS and the 20th anniversay of this game in 2014 so the time will come.

This was the one that brought the house down in the USA long before VII reared its head. In my opinion the last of the epic games from Final Fantasy. From VII-XII it was a slow slide down the other side of the hill. I can play I-VI over and over. But I have not touched any of the others literally in years. VII/VIII/IX got their last play 4 years ago when I took screens for my website. X has been almost 10 years, XII is two years. But in those times I have played thee a fore mentioned tons

@GabbzBaybee I've played both VI and VII and would much rather see a remake of VI, despite loving both. I can't even imagine what the opera scene would look like... I would pay any amount of money.

Cell shading would IMO be the best way this game should be faithfully remade. Though Dissidia shows that bringing the characters into 3D wouldn't be a bad option either, if they kept it similar to those designs.

The total hype still pissed me off to this day. I remember when I first saw the pics for this I thought they were going to revamp the entire game. Here we are, 12 years later and you get a second re-release on GBA along with a modern game rendition of Terra and Kefka in the FF spinoff, Dissidia. What a ripoff anthology was!

i can appreciate the effort!..but this was horrible. since when does Locke have bright blonde hair? Celes and Terra were almost identicle..Edgar lives in a desert, yet is as white as a ghost..I guess Edgar doesnt tan? This was a nice attempt from SE (or was it SS at this point?) to bring a classic FF into 3d..just a horrible delivery
