P waves can travel through solid,liquidand gaseous materials where as s waves can travel through Solids only.the core is in solid state so s waves cannot travel through core and get reflectled and p waves get refracted forming shadow zones.

Hi..can u pls explain the logic .. as temp increases 30degree/km as we go deep.. but at core it becomes constant 6000degree centigrade but actually it should be around 6000x 30..
