Amivantamab plus lazertinib is a new standard for EGFR-mutant NSCLC

Antonio Passaro, MD, PhD, Istituto Europeo di Oncologia, Milan, Italy, highlights recent updates regarding the treatment of EGFR-mutant non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Updated data from the Phase III MARIPOSA trial (NCT04487080) show an improvement in overall survival (OS) after 31 months of follow-up, confirming the amivantamab plus lazertinib combination as a valid first-line treatment option. Additionally, the Phase III MARIPOSA-2 trial (NCT04487080) demonstrated a benefit in OS and progression-free survival (PFS) with the combination of amivantamab and chemotherapy. These trials establish amivantamab as a promising option for NSCLC treatment, reducing resistance pathways, and potentially becoming a new standard of care.
