are the identicle gallon size rimless tanks the exact same inside dimensions of a rimmed tank of the same gallon size ? are they standard sizes regardless of rimmed and non rimmed.

The 45 degree glass is called a miter and any person who has cut and assembled anything can tell you it's much stronger than a 90 degree joint.

This may be correct in wood working. Our industry (aquarium) has come to call it 45 degree glass. I used wording that customers and manufactures use. Of course it is a mitered joint compared to a but joint. With glass as it gets thin it is brittle. It is arguable if the sacrifice of the thin outer edge is worth the added silicone strength. Regardless, Both tank types can be very nice when made correctly and 100% reliable. I would not make a purchase choice based on the joint alone. Thank You for your feedback.
