I’m from Chattanooga, things seem pretty good here, got M855 Green tips at Academy for 120$ a 200 round box, 9mm battle packs 200 rounds for 59$ and loads of Range buckets. Also North Georgia Reloading has BULK ammunition. Just putting that out there for anyone. Great job with the ammunition update man, and thanks for taking your time and gas to do that for us. I’m from Phoenix. I went to Bass pro 7am when they had their black Friday sell. I think it started Monday. Got the 556 Herters ammo can of 300 rounds for $139. There was only 5 on the shelf. I e bought 3 ammo cans, guy next to me got the other 2. Ended up costing 46cents a round. They aren’t restocking them anymore and it’s not even Friday. They even removed it from their website 😅.

I learned my lesson from the past two ammo “shortages” and once the prices settled back down I ordered what I needed from places on Ammoseek as well as buying more reloading components and a used Hornady LNL AP press so I’m in pretty good shape for the foreseeable future, I encourage others to do the same. Some calibers are often cheaper to buy than reloading them but for bulk .308 ammo it’s about 40% less. The other benefit from loading your own is that you have the ability to make very precise ammunition if you get into long range shooting or if you want to use a silencer and load sub-sonic ammo required for that weapon and silencer. And if the government gets their way on restricting ammunition on some level or imposing a high tax, reloading becomes a great option, look at it as a fall back option. You can easily find used reloading presses but when people start reloading for the same reasons, the prices will skyrocket as we see another ammo shortage. Often you’ll find people selling a press complete with everything needed and sometimes with projectiles and cases, eBay also has some decent deals on presses but always double check the prices so you don’t pay too much for either new or used.

5.56/.223 ammunition is getting hard to find here in Nevada, specifically Las Vegas. You will not find the bulk ammunition for those two calibers, only the 20 round boxes if you’re lucky. Keep your ammo preps decent people. 🇺🇸👍🏾

Basspro on Blue Diamond has a case for $579 for 1000 rds of Winchester 55gr FMJ, Winchester M855 Green Tip 62gr is $89 for 150 rounds and its $349 for 700 rd of Romanian 7.62x39mm. But it goes quick, find an assoicate and ask when they get their ammo shippments in. If they dont have it, other local shops have it cheap. For example I just got back from buying a bunch of 7.62x39mm up in Pahrump, and they get in a bunch of stuff. (they had 1000 rounds 223 Fiocchi and Winchester for $600, which comes out to $12 a box of 20. Thats at Ammo Supply Warehouse) But in town there are cheaper deals if you look. (Ive noticed a bunch of private sales on Armslist for cheap, with 7.62x39mm going for $7-8 a box of 20).

We are in decent shape, the stash good...as a senior used to waking up at 0 dark thirty I will go out and grab some $11.99 9mm fmj for (don't really favor Blazer, but why pay more for fmj) range work...and maybe a box or two of other calibers just because, if the price acceptable...hmm, down to about 15,000 bulk .22, might grab another couple thousand, cannot have too many...prices about as low as they going to get, get your wallets out...note: i went to gunshop last week where i had been buying 9mm fmj for $10.99, and they were cleaned out of the cheap stuff...they still had plenty of higher priced fmj, i didn't ask...so, a dollar a box more for a brand I don't prefer, have a great Thanksgiving...

@@Paleotech1 I figure at current range consumption we have 2-4 years worth...if another shortage does crank up we will really cut back again on heavier calibers, shooting just a couple boxes a year of stuff like .380, .45, .38spec, etc....the shotguns can get by on a box or less...we will still run through several thousand .22 a year...I think about last week's range visit, 30 rounds of 9mm fired, at that rate per month we good for 3 years...this coming week, maybe a 100-200 .22lr, bulk doesn't hurt the wallet, and regular trigger time IS regular trigger time...a little discipline goes a long ways during tight times...
