The Porsche I’ll Never Sell. 992 GT3 First Wash, Drive, and UPGRADES

Three years ago, I detailed and drove a Guards Red 992 GT3. The incredible driving experience put a GT3 on my vision board. Today, a Guards Red GT3 is in my garage. On this episode of Drive + Protect, I document buying the vehicle at Porsche Danbury, learn about the Porsche CPO process, perform a full detail and PPF with LLumar, install a full exhaust system with SOUL Performance, and drive the GT3 in winter conditions thanks to Vredestein Tires. Note: Engineer who works for the company that makes those torque wrenches (Gearwrench), just wanted to let you know that accurate torque is only achieved when the load is applied at the midpoint of the handle on click-style torque wrenches. So at 27:30 in the vudeo, that wheel is likely slightly undertorqued since some load was applied to the beam and not the handle. Due to static friction, if you go to re-check the torque it'll likely click and say its torqued even though technically it isn't quite to spec. Not something to be too concerned about, but something most people get wrong when using a torque wrench (including pro mechanics) & I thought I would share since I know you aspire for perfection! Congrats on the new ride!

Since the Porsche 911’s inception, it has been a known fact that each model change has gotten better and better. We each have our own favorites and Porsche, in there infinite wisdom, has carried traits over from previous models to remind us of what we found most appealing from days gone by. Just like a reminder of our childhood. My first Porsche was driven by a hot teacher when I was in 3rd grade. A 1973 911s. Beautiful car. Even hotter teacher lol. Each generation has improved the engineering to a level that is only surpassed by the next. All that being said, when the next 99whatever GT3 comes out who’s to say weather or not Larry will be able to resist the temptation of trading in or selling this one for the next. One thing I do know is that whom ever gets this one will be able to eat off of the carpets in the frunk! Best of luck and enjoy it while you can, Lonny

i bought a CPO 08 Cayman S in Jan 2019. it was delivered to a garage and sat there for 3 months in the Canadian winter. the Porsche dealership detailed and ceramic coated it prior to delivery and then no one but me touched it after that, including repairs (oil, starter...). CPO is well worth it!

Your GT3 should have came with the center lock socket, it's in the fronk next to the battery. And also it's not recommended to break the wheel loose on the ground. From Porsche directly they say to always have the car in the air. At least that what I've been doing the past 4 years and probably 100+ wheel/tire changes on the car. Congrats on the car though man!
