This is a lost Jeep Cherokee XJ that was found in Texas by Bob Sorokanich, Deputy Editor of Road and Track Magazine. You are probably asking yourself why someone with access to pretty much any car in the world would want a 2-door Jeep Cherokee. Turns out this was his dream car since he was a small boy which he explains in the episode. This car was found somewhere in Texas in a barn find situation. He bought it sight unseen and shipped it back to NYC for a complete disaster detail and restoration. The paint needs major compounding and polishing and the interior was disgusting, so cleaning with a shampoo machine and power drill brush was necessary. Afterwards I applied AMMO Reflex Pro and revealed the car to him in the AMMO Studio a few weeks later. (We were delayed by a major hurricane in CT with no power for 8 days). Hope you enjoy -Larry Kosilla

You can make any car in the world, being exotic, rare, or insanely costly, look absolutely beautiful. It's a different feeling to have a car with sentimental value behind it. My uncle had imported his 2000 Jeep Cherokee and gave it to me, and it came with a 3.5 inch lift, a factory NV231J, and the most beautiful interior in the world. Even a small little touchscreen radio that was held in by nothing but glue (it came loose quite a bit ago) due to the small screw mount breaking off. It has a beautiful red door, a nice sound, and in general looks great. I've been trying to get an NV242J for years now, and finally found someone willing to ship it over so I can finally have All Wheel Drive for the icy winters. It's a struggle though, as it's impossible to find an industrial torch, and where I work they won't let me borrow them.

Amazing. Larry you are such an incredible person. Paying very close attention to every minor detail. You care so much for your clients. I’ve been to some detailers who claim to be the best but no one is nearly as great as you. Other detailers ignore stuff that you take time to do. Like the mouse droppings in the headlights. That would’ve been ignored by so many others as they would say “it’s not my problem”

I loved this! Just a question: I'm curious as to why you didn't take out the seats to clean underneath? Was it not possible? Or not necessary?
@spencerbrinton1397
@spencerbrinton1397 3 жыл бұрын
It usually depends on what a customer pays. Like how much time should go into it or not. I always think taking seats out is a good idea for detailing. But true detailing should be tearing everything apart inside and out to detail what u can't see. Example: he took the headlights out and junk was underneath

@@EGGINFOOLS He's taken them out on other projects. I'm guessing that, being an SUV he just had reasonable reach without removing them. It may be that the carpet is going to be replaced, so the extra effort was less worthwhile... lots of variables.

This Jeep legitimately looked better than mine. I got a 1996 Jeep Cherokee Country Sport Utility 4D for $875. 330K miles, maintenance records dating back to 2002. All the mechanical components were in nigh perfect condition, but the previous owner hadn't cleaned the car once in his 20 years of ownership. The interior and exterior were absolutely filthy. I've been working to pull all of the grime out of the carpet for two weeks now. Hopefully things continue to improve! It's looking much better and I'm absolutely in love with this car.

I doubt this’ll be seen but thanks for low key looking out for the little guys. I’m not a professional when it comes to detailing, but my friends and family send me their cars for cleaning. Knowing to watch out for previously existing hail dents and what-nots is far from the mind of someone who deals with near perfect cars all the time. That’s something people starting out need to know.
