Would have been fun to go up to tank cannon caliber; seeing a 155mm artillery shell tower over the little bullets would be great. Yet of course, there's the crazy German ones, like the 380mm Sturmtiger self-propelled mortar, the 600mm Karl-Gerät siege cannon, and the mother of all shells, the 800mm Schwerer Gustav rail cannon.

Some people have probably saidthis before, but the 20mm is not a rifle cartridge. Any caliber round that is 20mm in diameter or larger is actually a cannon round. Also, the 20mm Vulcan is not an actual type of round, the 20x102mm however, is. The 20x102 is what is used in the Vulcan Gatling Cannon, so that's what I think you got confused with. Also, yes there are 20mm and 40mm rifles, but while they are called rifles, they firie a cannon caliber round, so technically they are shoulder-fired cannons.

Thanks Robert, but somebody care about them, because the sure make a lot of them. My EDC, is a .45, but I do have a .32 for pocket carry. Beretta make a very popular .25, and so do several other well known companies, not mention the Saturday Night Special makers. Sometimes it's a matter of what you can afford, sometimes it's a matter of what you can handle. Just a few months ago, I was shooting next to someone that thought the .380 was too much, but they did like the .32. The trick is Bob, if you have to carry a .22, or a .25, to shoot the bad guy in the eye, then they can't see to aim at you.

how come 14.5 and 20mm have a rounded tip vs .50 that has a point? sorry dont know much
@brandonphillips674410 жыл бұрын
just based on the job it as to carry out. It all comes down to range, weight, and velocity. The 14.5 and the 20mm are usually shot from mounted positions (ie. vehicles and aircraft) and are more of a "damaging", round, shot from closer distances, and shaped to hit with a broader surface, where as the .50 is designed to slice through the air for longer more accurate shots, and shaped to penetrate as easily as possible. Because at longer ranges the .50 will lose velocity, and power, so it needs to be able to do its job more efficiently.
