Exactly!! Like my sudden craze for Amnesia content came completely out of the blue after I watched The Bunker. I was just trying to learn about CSI with some noise in the back when it suddenly hit me. I just wanted to learn about the different Injuries one can find on a victim at a crime scene, not get another addiction to horror games!! This is my 3rd time around the "horror craze" wheel too, hh...

Daniel's self-preservation was so strong that he could believe or deny anything to save himself (even a Gatherer's monstrous visage standing before him). I think in his heart of hearts he knew something was not right, but he closed his eyes. And it worked until finally he snapped from something which was beyond any form of acceptable or delusional justification. He too late realised who was a real monster here...

I think the gatherers disguised their monstrous appearance, either by wearing cloaks or through magic provided by Alexander. They only dropped the pretense once it was no longer necessary. I’m pretty sure that if Daniel had seen the true appearance of the gatherers he would have mentioned it in his diary. Though then again we may not have seen all of his entries.

The whole deal with Gatherers' appearance is a bit unclear to me, lore wise. During gameplay, they're absolutely terrifying. But the weird thing is that Daniel does not describe them as such in his notes. He mentions that their behaviour can be described as "skulking", but he doesn't mention their unnatural shape, gait or face. It makes me think what we see ingame is a consequence of Daniel's mental deterioration or perhaps his guilt manifesting through servants' appearances. It's a bit hazy.

the story of this game traumatized me a bit because people were actually tortured with these kinds of devices. Humans were and are still very capable of extremely sick acts.

Really good. You unfortunately missed the second part of this memory with the arsonist where he pleaded "I'll do anything, whatever you want". So actually he should only be tortured after that second part thingy. But the video in itself was really good!

I'm not done with Bunker yet so idk for now. I've seen many journal notes, but not much audio cutscenes (I preffer those to stage out instead of monologues on journals)

I don't think they gave a definitive answer on this. "Alexander's strange servants are never far away. They are a quiet lot and their behavior could only be described as skulking" - obviously their appearance was hidden from Daniel when he first arrived at the castle because he didn't write "Alexander's servants are barely-human monstrosities whose jaws hang below their chests" but it seems impractical for Alexander to keep them hidden forever. I think once Daniel was on board with the torture and the phony warding ritual and all that, Alexander would easily find a way to also justify the existence of the Gatherers. Personally I think Daniel must have known what they looked like because after he loses his memory, he is able to have hallucinations of them before actually encountering one for real.
