The song that opens this clip is just such a clear an example of why Amensia Scanner hits so hard for me. The melodies are simple, bearing an almost emo pop sincerity, and you'd be excused for thinking it is an uncomplicated tune. But the fact is, those synths sound unlike almost anything else. They hit so hard, they obliterate the need for any percussions. They screech in high frequencies, but wipe the floor with bass as well. And all that happens while still leaving space for the warped vocals to peek through. Saw them in Montreal earlier this month and I honestly just hope it won't be years until they come back, because that show was just incredible.
