Heilung is Amplified History from northern Europe and should not be mistaken for a modern religious and/or political statement of any kind.
Remember, that we all are brothers
All people, beasts, trees and stone and wind
We all descend from the one great being
That was always there
Before people lived and named it
Before the first seed sprouted

My car broke down the day before I was supposed to see them live, so I bought a train ticket and traveled 6 hours across Texas to see them. The line for the venue was winding blocks down the street, people would pull over in cars and yell "what's going on!?" Because mostly everyone was dressed up for a viking invasion. Still one of my greatest memories. 😂

Other times, for whatever reason (strung out, not taking care of themselves etc) the live performance is just shit. Some (most) of the last 10 years of Manson live performances have been garbage. I just had the pleasure of going to their ritual in Austin. Their music transcends language and time and, when you listen to Heilung, you can feel something ancient and primal waking up in your soul. Something long suppressed. Going to their ritual, however, will release that out of you. You feel it in your blood, your heart, your soul, and your bones. Heilung means healing and now I can feel why they chose that name. Thank you for such a beautiful experience, Heilung.

Not a sound engineer, but apparently for Lifa 2 they recorded the input channels in addition to the hall audio, so if the audio is degraded or people are yelling over the music, they can fix it with the actual sound from the instruments. They talked about this after the 2021 Red Rocks ritual, which they wanted to record for a new Lifa but the speakers died halfway in, and said they theoretically had all they needed to do it anyway.

But I totally get what you are saying ; we need more analog / naturally talented artists such as Heilung who are brave and good enough to try new things that don't fit into the same old trite boxes . Folks act as if everyone has been done before and nothing new is possible but humans have been proclaiming that since when Mammoths stomped around the Earth . The spirit of the cosmos is constantly whispering beauty in the form of new ideas and all we have to do is listen carefully with the right sort of ears . This wasn't written by eight fourty year old men in a conference room and we can tell -- we can feel the difference and respond positively to it .

After I got out of the hospital I found out you were playing nearby and I did everything I could to see you. It was my very first "spirit journey", and I will never ever forget it. Seeing you live was the most wonderful experience of my life. I experienced true calm and happiness for the first time in as long as I can remember. It's like on a movie that I heard once...... depression is a futher mucker... It's as if you feel like your not worth the oxygen your sucking down. 1. You get used to it. 2. Then you start to believe it. 3. Then you love it. 4. Ultimately, you can't stand to live without it. It's like that bottle, you reach for over and over. It's your only companion left. Heilung came at a time when I was at level 4, like so many of us. With their rituals, They can help bottle all that up and throw it aside as you continue your journey/path. Hope this helps whoever comes across this thread. You are not alone. D. Frostproof,FL. U.S.

I love the studio version. It brought me to tears the first time I listened, and several times after. I didn't expect a live performance to have the same effect, perhaps more so! I'm trying not to cry on my lunch break. If this doesn't become one of Heilung's best-known and loved songs, I'll be shocked.
