Just found this channel. This is a very good sermon. It saddens me that other "sermons" with really bad theology has millions of views, but sound doctrine like this one deserves more. But I'm glad to see truth is still preached! Lord bless you and this ministry!

You mentioned how this story is much like David, but have you also considered the parallels between 2 Sam 11 & 13 and Genesis 3 & 4? As I was reading this story I couldn't help but think of Amnon being like Adam and Eve- seeing, desiring, taking, and an exile (in this case Tamar). Then we have a brother luring another brother to a place where he can have him killed (like Cain & Abel) and then the brother is exiled (in this case Absalom leaves for Geshur for 3 years). I'm not sure if I'm stretching here, so I thought I'd look you up and reach out for your opinion. I just think these parallels strengthen the message of ALL of us (like you mentioned using Rom 3) being like our sinful "fathers" Adam/Cain/David/Amnon and in need of Jesus.
@AaronVriesman2 жыл бұрын
@Joey I've not noticed those parallels to Adam & Eve and Cain & Abel before but something is there worth exploring. As Ecclesiastes says, there is nothing new under the sun. People repeat the same sinful patterns as they have going back to the beginning. Certainly all have sinned and noticing our own parallels to those who have gone before us strengthens the point of Romans 3 all the more. Thanks for the comment. It sounds like you are on to something there.

KING DAVID SAID TO THE PROPHET THAT THE CULPRIT HAD TO PAY WITH 4 SHEEPS. THEN KING DAVID PAID WITH FOUR SONS. 1) the new born baby from Bathsheba 2) Amon 3) Absalom 4) Adonijah who was kill later by Salomon orders. Please PRAY FOR PEACE IN JERUSALEM AND THE WHOLE WORLD. SHALOM

I think Absolam had more of a right to kill his brother than Cain did. Amnon was an asshole so I actually feel his death was justified.
@AaronVriesman5 жыл бұрын
I definitely see where you are coming from. What should have happened is David should have used his kingly and ancient near East father authority to discipline Amnon for this outrageous behavior.

Moonlit Balcony Psalm 9:9 promises us that “The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.” Your pain, fear, anger, and sadness are not too much for God. God loves you just as much today as He did the day He created you. God sees you in your pain and grieves with you, just like He does for all of His children.❤🙏

@Princess Linda & @Moonlit Balcony, you are most certainly not worthless but if you are like Tamar, a terrible injustice has been done to you. Comments on KZbin videos only go so far. I only hope you have someone you can talk with about this, someone who will help you navigate the pain you feel. I hope that each of you know deep down at least that you are made in the image of God. This means you have inherent worth and value from God and nobody can take that away. I will say prayers for each of you. Feel free to contact me.

THERE are TWO princesses raped in the bible 1) DINAH Jacob daughter and 2) Tamar King DAVID daughter. Both represent Jerusalem and Samaria and both were raped by Asyria and Babylon. And Later Jesus came to Redeem them. Thank you Jesus Christ for your sacrifice for our redemption and salvation and for your miracles and WORDS. Amen
@danielrosas56852 жыл бұрын
Absalom didn't have a right to kill his brother just like Cain didn't have a right to kill Abel. This was just the devil instigating the whole calamity. Then with time Absalom conspire against his father the King. And finally Absalom was caught by his hair and was trapped by a tree where Joab send the Archers and pierced him where Absalom was hanging from the tree (just like Judas). Praise and thanks Jesus Christ for your sacrifice for our redemption and salvation and for your miracles and WORDS. SHALOM
@meenathami54012 жыл бұрын
Yeah and what about Tamar who was so faithful to God then the sons of David . David also didn't gave justice to Tamar instead he supported his son. Actually it was David's mistake for not discipling his children and neglecting his daughter . what absalom was half correct half incorrect . His greatest mistake was turning away from God and revolting against his father . Every rapist should deserve severe punishment .

@@m.h6858 not bring Christian like at all with the remark. He is best left unaddressed than to stoop to that level. 1 of the beatitudes of Jesus is "blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called the children of god". I'm not a Christian but if you are and if you really believe in Jesus than you would know it is your duty as a Christian to step into quarrels and facilitate peace. You didn't do that and it shows you lack the ability to follow your religion as it is laid out to you.
