This is actually one of the more impressive WIMB videos. Excellent picks. Great taste.

I love all the people criticizing their "hipster tastes." Their tastes are no more obscure or quirky than any of the artists in this series. Guess what? It turns out people in good bands like exploring strange and interesting music.

growing up my mom was a musician..not popular but good in her own right..i remember she liked and mentioned francoise hardy it is just odd to see that name again after all of these years.

"Picaresque" is a good starting point for the Decemberists, in my opinion.

The bats almost forgot about them. Great band. The scientists were awesome have a record of theirs somewhere. Saw them one night in Sydney i think they played with the hard ons.

Saw The Scientists supporting Mudhoney many years ago. The guitarist trashed his guitar near the end of the set, at which point the singer said "dude, whatcha do that for? We've still got one more song"

Woody Guthrie was part of the 60s folk revival in terms of mentoring Ramblin' Jack Elliot and Bob Dylan but he started playing music in the 30s and did most of his recording in the 40s. The Anthology of American Folk Music came out in the 50s.

Not a fan of their music, but they have nice taste. Especially like that French stuff.
@ThawedTroglodyteJury9 жыл бұрын
***** Yeah, I like some of their music, they're one of those bands that tends to sound indistinguishable one song to next unfortunately, not nearly as eclectic and interesting as their taste. Though I felt that way about Carissa's Wierd and Kurt Cobain too... must be something up in the Pacific Northwest water supply.
