We received a helpful comment that there seems to be a syncing issue with this video's audio and images all of a sudden that occurs around 1:30 on Chrome and Firefox browsers when using a computer (not mobile) and lasts for the duration of the video. *If this occurs, please use the browser Internet Explorer, Edge, or Safari as this glitch does not seem to occur with those browser types.* We have contacted KZbin support, and we'll update when fixed for Chrome and Firefox browsers. April 6, 2021 Update: KZbin is aware and still working on syncing issue. Dichotomous key uses five organisms amoeba, plant, bacterium, mushroom, and archaeon. Dichotomous key is like a directions, where to go from the organisms.

Yes, taxonomy is classification based on *shared* characteristics. But your dichotomous key is not. In taxonomy, you are not allowed to classify organisms by what they *don't share*, but that is what you do with question 2, making a group of the organisms that *don't have* peptidoglycan. Dichotomous keys are *not* taxonomy. They are useful to identify, but not to classify.

+Ornicar Ornicar That's a good point---we wanted to define taxonomy before getting into dichotomous keys but it's very true that this could confuse people to include defining taxonomy in the same video with dichotomous keys. So we now opted to clip out that portion about taxonomy and save it for a future vid on classification! Appreciate that comment :D
