Hey Vikings, this my homage to another Band that greatly influenced me quite a few years back.
Gear used
---------------
Right Guitar:
Ltd Hex-7 - Randall RH150 G3 Plus - Harley Benton 2x12" with Celestion V30 - Shure SM57 - Focusrite Scarlet 2i2
Left Guitar and Solo Harmony:
B.C. Rich Kerry King Speed V - Laboga "the Beast 30 plus" - Harley Benton 2x12" with Celestion V30 - Shure SM57 - Focusrite Scarlett 2i2
Please forgive the little mistakes here and there (solo - ouch! -.-) which mainly stem from me not playing my 7-String as much as I should, haha.

Thanks a lot! Yeah, I agree that it's just terrible when you can't even hear what people are playing. No point in doing a cover in the first place then.

Great cover with fucking heavy song, congratulations !! =) I need some advice, if you can help me please : I'd like to tune my LTD EX-400 down to B standard but I don't know which thickness I have to get for the strings, do I have to take 12-58? 13-64 ? The scale length is 24.75 and I currently have 10-46 strings.
@DominiqueHeine
@DominiqueHeine 10 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot, I really appreciate that! =) Well, as for the thickness of the strings that depends on how tight you want your strings to be. With a 24.75 I'm currently using D'Addario 12-60 or Rotosound 11-59 (Michael Amott Signature Set) and it's working very well. I also tried a set of D'Addario 13-62 (light gauge baritone set) which are a little tighter and I really liked the overall feel on the lower strings.´, whereas the higher ones were a little too stiff for my taste. On my 7-String, though, I'm using a .68 for the low B on a 25.5 scale guitar and I really love the tightness you get there. Best to try out and see what you like, but I guess some 12-60 or something along those lines will do the trick for you. ;-) Make sure to get the string slots in your guitar's nut widened for the thicker strings and to properly set up your guitar for the new string gauge (consult a luthier if you don't know how to do these things) to ensure good intonation and tuning stability! ;-) Cheers

Wow thank you very very much for your full answer !! =) It'll help me a lot, actually i want my strings to be big enough for it, and to set up my guitar i think it's not very tough to do it.

Hi again man, I would like some more help please, but it's on another thing : can you advise me for what good amplifier and pedal(s) i can take to play death metal (mostly swedish bands like Entombed, Dark Tranquillity, At The Gates) ?? I precise It's for playing at home, so maybe around 15-30w.
@DominiqueHeine
@DominiqueHeine 10 жыл бұрын
Hey, cool to hear from you again! :D Well, what would be your price range? There are quite a few good options. And is it supposed to be only for home use or do you want to be aple to play with a band as well? Would you prefer a Combo or seperate amp head and (small) cabinet?
@yoka1672
@yoka1672 10 жыл бұрын
My price range would be 600 euros (around 750 dollars), it will be mostly for home, but I want to use it sometimes to play with other musicians, not necessarily in a band (I think 15/30w should be ok), and no head ampli, only the ampli itself
@DominiqueHeine
@DominiqueHeine 10 жыл бұрын
Hi again, well if it should be able to handle band levels then you want to look into something in the 30 to 50 watts section. I'm currently using a Laboga the Beast 30+ for rehearsals which I had for home practice first. Does the job really well with a 4x12 (also available as a combo), or you could look into the Randall RD40C or the Laney IRT30-112. If you get the chance try some Bugera combo but I have some doubts about reliability with this brand... If you are willing to look into buying a amp head and a speaker cabinet, you could get the Harley Benton Vintage G212 (about 200 euros) plus a relatively low priced amp head. You could look into the Jet City thingies there. There's also some special offers with Jet City amps and cabs on Thomann. Orange Dark Terror could be another alternative if you like it's sound (which I don't too much^^) Pedals should not be a top priority in my opinion. Best to get a good sound out of the amp. If you want to go the swedish DM route you could try to get your hands on a BOSS HM-2, other than that...a tuner, a noise gate, maybe a wah. That's it. But I would invest in a relatively good amp and cab first. Hope, I could help a bit. Cheers

(You could try using a Behringer HM-300 instead of the BOSS)

What gauge strings you use to handle that low of a tuning? I'm gonna try 13 gauge. Do you think that would work?
@DominiqueHeine
@DominiqueHeine 6 жыл бұрын
SeanO Covers1999 hey man, thanks a lot. You can try something like 12-60 or 12-68, depending on scale length and your preferred string tension. You might also consider 7-string sets where you leave out the highest string, for example. ;-) be sure to set the guitar up for the new gauges (or have a luthier do it). have fun experimenting \m/

Is there bass guitar? Nice, but sound is crude.
@DominiqueHeine
@DominiqueHeine 9 жыл бұрын
Сан СанычThanks for the comment. There's no bass guitar, might just be the Randall sounding very boomy. Define crude...I'm not too unhappy with that sound, it's just a guitar cover done at room volume after all, not a recording for an album. But let me hear advice for improvement
