Hierarch Artanis and the Spear of Adun reached Shakuras to rally the Nerazim, who were the last bastion of uncorrupted protoss loyal to the Daelaam. He arrived there to find the planet under siege by the zerg. Matriarch Vorazun contacted Artanis stating that the zerg reactivated the warp gate leading to Aiur and began to pour through, overrunning the planet. These Templar were in suspension for centuries if not millennia so they probably have no idea about a Hierarch but they probably did not revolt as they like Rohana thought this is all on the order of the Conclave and the assigned Executor so they would first learn more, as they have pledged to obey who ever would be in command of the vessel.

This mission was surprisingly easy with the Dark Templar, with a few ranged units thrown in for ranged support. Really; the only real threat were those spore crawlers.

So was I. But honestly, Artanis was the better choice. Being much younger means he works as an avatar being introduced to the Protoss culture, and being the hierarch allows him to be a unifying force for all the different branches.
