It's very difficult to describe this genre and his style of music. It's extremely intense. Every time I listen to any of his songs, especially his older work, I get a slight headache and I feel as though I've been chewing on aluminum foil. He sound is truly unique and his beat are so spastic, but I'm still drawn to it like a moth to an incandescent light. It's a metallic sound, a challenging sort of music to listen to and appreciate. For those who love it, it's a rare treasure, and for those who don't understand it, you're missing out.

As a light show guy from the '60's (not the biggest by any means, but I did concerts with Jefferson Airplane, Taj Mahal, Spirit, an impromptu jam with Rich Havens and others), this reminds me of some of the unrealized visions in my head at the time and ever since. I'm totally in awe to just fall on this by accident.

Ninja Tune have some of the most original and unique producers and Dj's on their roster and have released some ground breaking albums. Amon Tobin is on another level entirely and has set the bar for experimental production in electronic music.

The thing about Amon Tobins music is that it is hard for most people to understand, and access. In a way relativity is some what important to music, but i personally think his music is beautifully balanced, and i love it's ambiance :D

From the release info of "Two Fingers" on AT's website: Two Fingers are Brazilian beat-adventurer Amon Tobin and Joe “Doubleclick” Chapman. The pair met when Tobin lived in Brighton and bonded over an interest in music that ran way beyond the boundaries of “electronica”.

No, but had "diffraction grating" glasses - that made lighting a match into a light show by itself. And those inspired me to invent my own "CactusMaster" [corny and naive, I know - it was the '60s!] glasses made from many strips of colored gels - with different patterns for each eye. Also made a kaleidoscopic lens for my camera and made films for my light show thru it. And recently ran into folks with DG glasses at a holiday light display which I took a few new pix with. Good times!
