This game - and I'm not going to use that expression lightly here - _fucking slaps._ I've always wanted to see a game that's somewhat similar to Stay Alive (2006), and not only does Among Ashes do _that,_ it also adds _a third layer,_ which is just... _insanely_ cool. I love the tree symbol, you can clearly tell it's supposed to be a tree so it works for this game but any Binding of Isaac player will recognize it as the Brimstone item due to it being the alchemical symbol for sulfur as well as being known as Leviathan's/Satan's Cross. Lots of layered meanings which fits this game well.

Homemade chicken soup really is good for when you're sick. It helps. Maybe someone could make some for you, or you could order it from somewhere that sells proper home made chicken soup. If nowhere does delivery then maybe someone could pick some up as a take away/take out for you. Ginger, lemon and chilli are really good for colds and flu. Chilli is a natural antibiotic I opened you feel better asap

The only question I still have is why David started the fire. We never really got an answer. He didn’t really seem to have a reason to protect his father. All I can think of is that he had some kind of mental breakdown since his mother tried to murder him & his father abused & killed his sister, and he was the one to discover them.

This is actually explained pretty early on, before you really know what's going on. After defeating Doctor Stoker, we get to hear a conversation that presumably happened between David and his father before he died. He manipulated David, convincing him people would blame him for not saying anything sooner, or somehow his father's sins would taint him. Poor kid was 16, so it didn't really take much to scare him into doing exactly what he was told: burn his father's sins. But he's had to live with that guilt, and it manifested as the experience we play. He clearly regrets covering up what his father did and recognizes now, as an adult, that he's sorry. Hence the game file being "I'm Sorry."

That was worth the wait. What an awesome game. I must admit I got a bit choked up with the dads letter as it confirms what happened to poor Amy/Amanda. I wasn't upset for the dad! The ba**ard didn't deserve it. He was a monster. He took the cowards way out. I think David set the fire so the truth wouldn't be found out. So that people didn't learn what dad did to Amanda. He won't have wanted her to be remembered that way, for people to go "Amanda Smith? oh yes, that was the girl who was a victim of SA by her own dad". If this Dev can make a game like this on their own with no budget imagine if they were able to work with a big developer!

I would think it would of been the fact his mom tried to kill him & his sister when they were young and then one day he came home to find his sister murdered by their father & he took his own life. After suffering that much trauma, it would be just as likely he just freaked the fuck out.

I was amazed at how this part managed to show you how to solve it ... by standing up, leaving the game and turning around in your in-game house. 2:22:20 Outstanding gameplay.
