To be fair, for a little bit, it was because Dumbdog was using the shield most effectively to catch killers. So shielding wroof (tm Janet) was the best use of the medic shield by the medic.

Once half or more of the crewmates are campaigned to, the Politician can reveal themselves as the new Mayor. If less then half of the crewmates have been campaigned to the reveal will fail and the Politician will be unable to campaign for 1 round.
