My choir and I were doing a full American tour in high school, and we stopped at a random chapel/church in the middle of the Great Plains and sang this song. To say that there was a transcendent spiritual experience for everyone involved would be understating it. One of my favorite pieces of all time.

I sang bass in The Windy City Gay Chorus at the GALA Chorus Festival in Denver in 2012. This was, by far, the most beautiful piece of music I performed after six years with the ensemble. Now retired, and working on my ninth gay romance novel, I wanted to incorporate this song into the story line.

This piece is transcendental, period. The divine is real, and who is divine but the carpenter from Nazareth whom they used to call Jesus

my favorite song. I sing Tenor 2, the tenor part is the best. However, this piece should be sung A'Cappella.

What a composition! What a composer! Well performed, and while it might be very good acapella, I especially like the piano accompaniment.
